Here's the scene:

I have connected my IIIV2 to my computer and spent the evening downloading lots of User Presets (my thanks to all donors for their efforts).

I expect to meet with my gifted lead guitarist soon and I am sure he will wisely reach over and twiddle knobs ... on the amp.

When I next connect my amp to my PC I would hate for the PC to be "the master" and wipe away all my mate's efforts to further tweak the ideal sounds from my amp.

Does the amp update the PC?

Thanks in advance for your responses

Shuggie

FUSE (and the amp) make no permanent changes unless you specifically tell it to by clicking the "SAVE" button. If you do click save, it will ask what slot to save the preset to (just like on the amp).

If you change a setting on the amp, the FUSE software will reflect the change in it's interface.

If you change a setting in the FUSE software, the amp's settings will change on the amp (but the knobs won't move).

In either case the red "SAVE" button on the amp will light up and the "SAVE" button in FUSE will light up.

Unless you SAVE the preset - moving to another preset or closing out of FUSE and turning off the amp, the amp will disregard those changes and the preset will go back to where it was before the changes were made.

If you want to keep the changes your mate makes to a preset, you must SAVE them after they are made.

If you are worried about losing those changes due to some unforeseen reason that causes you to bring the amp back to factory settings (reset), then you should use FUSE to preform a BACKUP of all settings on the amp. You can then do a RESTORE if need be.

Easy-peasy.

Thanks for your response.

I believe I had most of that sorted in my mind already.

Having slept on this here is what I think goes on:

Changes made to any preset and saved on a disconnected amp will be synched onto the PC's version of the preset.

Changes made to a preset on a PC can only be done with the amp connected and action or either the amp or the PC is reflected across both.

I tried to test this by simply tweaking a gain from 4 to zero on a preset with theamp disconnected. I then plugged in the connection cable and now I have "No Amplifier connected" - an issue I thought I had put behind me last night!!

Phew!
