re-fuse : a Fender® FUSE™ preset backup manager for windows / osx

I wrote this because managing presets in Fender® FUSE™ is very limited und uncomfortable to do.
It does what is does,
so if you have cool ideas how to improve it, please ask Fender to improve their software instead!

requirements:
OSX 10.6-10.9 (x86, x64)
WinXP -> Win8 (x86, x64 & Intel Atom)
It´s written and bundled with Adobe-Air runtime.

features:
    - clone & delete backups
    - drag´n´drop preset sorting
    - drag´n´drop effects sorting
    - drag and drop presets between backups <-> computer-library
    - print preset handout (ugly, but heh)

use at your own risk.

 download links removed. it´s easy to google the download location.

Image

Code:
v0.2.0: initial release
v0.3.0: added model-detection, added support for Mustang V2 I/II
v0.4.0: preset drag and drop Backups <-> Computer-Library
v0.4.2: display some preset-metadata, gui-changes, internal optimizations
v0.4.3: fixed bug: swapping presets was not possible under certain circumstances, minor optimizations, windows release
v0.4.4: Mustang v2 III/IV/V support
v0.4.5: some bugfixes for v2 III/IV/V amps
v0.4.6: Mustang v1 I/II support
v0.4.7: windows only, fixed bug w/ open filestream

As I don´t use a Fender-Fuse Amp anymore, I will not continue to support this project. Non the less it should work for what it´s made for.
regards,
SenorUke

I downloaded this

I like this for reordering presets. Have to play with it some more but on my initial glace at it here is some feedback.

1. I’m using a Mustang II so at least in my situation the preset order comes up wrong on your app. The reason for this is that the mustang does not arrange them into their slots in numerical order. They are in groups of 8. So preset 00-07 is your Orange bank, 08-15 is the Greens, and 16-23 is the Reds. When I open a backup file in your app for instance, the # bank has 21, 22 and 23 when it should be presets 07,15 and 23.

At least this is how the Mustang I and II work. Not sure if this holds true for the Mustang mini.

2. If you re-order the presets, the numbers do not change. I have not tried restoring an updated backup to the amp but that’s just something I noticed.

Otherwise it appears to be a useful app.

Thanks very much for creating and sharing

Gotcha

Yes just tried that and it worked so really just the order of the presets not matching the slot order and LED color. Actually I also just noticed that the effects window is empty but that could just be that I’m not hooked up to my amp at the moment as I am at work.

PM me your email address and I can email you a zip file if you like.

Nicely done

My effects knobs load into the app and I’m able to change the order on those which is a plus. Those are a bit more of a pain to program so being able to change the order in there is very useful.

If I had to nitpick the only thing I’d change is the on the Effects Banks. Rather than have it be “Effects bank I” and “Effects bank II”, I’d have those read “MOD” and DLY/REV” so they match how the amp is labled.

Another note might be reversing the order so that the preset numbers start at 23 on the top and descend. That way the # preset is at the top and descends to Preset A. Again so it appears as it does on the amp. I think it would just make it a bit easier to read and visualize but this isn’t a huge deal I suppose.

Good job.

As soon as I get a chance I’ll restore an altered backup to my amp as a test. I use my work laptop to edit my amp in fuse so have to bring it home and do the deed.

Thanks again for creating and sharing.

it´s now possible to drag and drop presets between your local library and backups.
this way you cannot only re-arrange presets, but also create whole new sets with your downloaded stuff ;)

dragging a preset from the "Backup Presets" -> "Library Presets" list

- will store a copy of the preset in your library, replacing any existing versions

dragging a preset from the "Library Presets" -> "Backup Presets" list

- will replace the backup preset where you drop the library preset.
- will store a copy of the replaced preset in your library if not present

these changes are made immediately

@captainc
thx for your suggestions, i´d like to keep things simple first, maybe i put this in when the rest is done.
i have still 1-2 ideas, and maybe i could build a windows version if there is any interest.

use at your own risk,

SenorUke

fixed a bug where swapping presets was not possible under certain circumstances, i´d suggest to use the latest version.

Thanks for this program that we all know Fender should have included in Fuse. The re-ordering works fine on Windows but Effects boxes are empty. ??. great job

thanks for your feedback,
if you could you upload / send me a backup I´ll take a look why the fx are not showing up,
by the way you can also drag and drop downloaded presets into you backup,

it seems the mustang v2 III/IV/V amps don´t include the FX in a backup.
re-fuse now checks if a fx-backup exists, besides i added some printjpb support for the v2 III/IV/V amps
