I am new to using Fuse, and last night I went to plug in the USB cord and somehow I pressed the exit and tuner buttons at the same time. I have lost all of my presets.
I have done about 5 attempts at shutting down the amp and then restarting with the exit button pushed and my amp won't restore.
I need help with this. I am pretty computer savvy, but I can't get the window to light up with any figuration.
What is happening is the amp, stomp, mod, delay reverb, tap, exit, save, and Util buttons keep lighting up and then going out in a line that starts with amp and ends in util.
It is almost like it is stuck in a circle.
Could someone tell me how to fix this?
Thank you all very much.

So I put a post up on TDPRI, been there for a while, and eveyone that answered the thread said I should call Fender. I called Fender today and talked to Alan in Tech Support.
He ran through a couple of things and believes that the amp needs to be seen by a service dealership.
I told him that I have only had the amp for under a year and it has never left my living room. I use it for quiet practice, and I find it hard to believe that my pressing two buttons should destroy the amp.
As the conversation turned out he was going to talk to someone in Consumer Relations and get back to me today. Well, it's 8pm and I still haven't heard from them.
Got to say I am very disappointed in the fact that they haven't called, but I guess I just wait and see what becomes of this.
I am a pro musician and have numerous teles and fender amps. I love their stuff.

Maybe I'm not understanding correctly, but are you saying all the presets you created were wiped out and you're trying to get them back by doing a restore? The 'Factory Restore' won't get the presets you created back, it will return the amp to a state like it was when it left the factory .... all presets are reverted to their original settings before you made any changes.

From the advanced manual:

Factory Restore

You can restore your Mustang amplifier to the original factory
settings if desired. All user presets will be erased!

To restore the Mustang amplifier to factory settings:
1. Turn the amplifier OFF.
2. Press and hold the EXIT button while turning the amplifier
ON. Continue holding the EXIT button until it is no longer
illuminated.

The FACTORY RESTORE function will erase all user
modified presets. It will also restore any effect selections

No strings.
I have tried to do a restore several times, and the amp will not restore.
The entire preset library is gone and all I get is a white screen. Nothing
is displayed. Nothing.

All of the factory presets are gone.

I have never hooked up to Fuse or added any presets of my own so I have
no library online.
I got a call from Consumer Reps today, and they said I have to take it to a
service center and pay to have it looked at.
I have had the amp under a year, and, just as I thought, they are trying to
basically say, "You pays your money, you takes your chances,"
I have to say that I expected more.

Ah ok, so I guess by 'white screen' you mean on the LCD Display.

So I assume you are not in the United States?

Hi garytelecastor,

We understand that you are unhappy that your amp has an issue and needs to get checked out. This is why we offer the warranty that we do, so that as a first owner, having purchased from an authorized dealer, you can get the amp to a service center and get it checked out/serviced.

It is my understanding that one of our reps from Consumer Relations called you back and offered extensive assistance with the entire warranty service process, including contacting the service centers in your area to see what options there might be for expediting service (this is not covered by the warranty, and is at the service centers option/availability).

And as I stated to you when we spoke yesterday, we are very happy to assist in every way that we can. And we very much appreciate your patronage over the years. Unfortunately, electronics, whether they be analog or digital have issues from time to time. As I also stated to you yesterday during our phone conversation, it is highly unlikely that you caused the issue you are seeing with the display on your amp by pressing any particular buttons.

At this point, we really need to get the amp into a service center to get it checked out. We appreciate your patience. Please feel free to let me or the service rep. that assisted you from Consumer Relations know if we can assist further at this point.

Best Regards,

Alan

Alan-
Thanks for your response. I am a Fender lover. There aren't very many things that I enjoy more than a tele through a deluxe. That was until I found this amp. I finally was achieving some of those more obscure tones and vibes that I had gone after for a long time.
I got the amp about 8 months ago, and as you say I didn't do anything to cause the
problem. The amp came from the store to my living room, and it has been there ever since.
You guys are following, as I pointed out, the company policy and I understand that.
You both have been extremely considerate and are very helpful. I don't have any hard feelings against you or Darryl or Fender.
But my thinking is as I stated before. I pressed 2 little buttons and the amp went nuclear. I guess after that my responsiblity in the matter ends. It's kind of like buying a new car and one morning you go out to start it and the engine blows up.
But I am more than willing to go along with whatever you guys decide, but as I said before, I think that you should just replace the amp.
I will wait for Darryl to call with the service agents numbers.

Alan-
One other thing. Darryl basically said that he would call service centers and see which
one around me had the shortest waiting time. Other than that, there wasn't really
much that he could do.
I guess that doesn't seem to be extensive. I still appreciate it. It is very kind that he would do that.

Again, I wish to reiterate that I have no problems with either you or Darryl, or Leo. This is the current standard protocol of big business.
I think both of you guys are great, and I look forward to hearing from you.

When I look at the posts I can see where they sound like I am attacking you and Darryl.
I assure you that is not the case. I was just writing things down as they have happened.
My apologies to you and Darryl, and all of the crew at Fender.
You guys are the top.
I can't help but feel a little upset at the amp going down on me.

Hi garytelecastor,

No worries. And thanks for your follow up posts here. Again, I don't have any reason to believe that the issue you are seeing on your amp was caused by you pressing any particular combination of buttons. But I am confident that with the assistance of one of our capable service centers, we will get the issue resolved for you. This is where your warranty coverage comes in. And again, thanks for your patience and patronage.

Best Regards,

Alan

fwiw, I've ordered over 100 Dell computers at a time (for business) and inevitably there are 1 or 2 that have issues right out of the box. It's just the nature of electronics, there's a lot that can go wrong during the manufacturing and assembly process. And (in the case of the computers) it's often a component that wasn't even manufactured by Dell, yet most people would consider it a 'defective Dell product'.

So then, Alan, why haven't I heard from Darryl? He told me he would be finding a service center near me that would give the best turn around. He said that he would call yesterday. Still haven't heard from him.

This is really a non-entity. If Dell were to sell you a product that was manufactured poorly or fell to pieces when it was first used, they most certainly would be responsible for replacing the defective product. There is no way the law would allow them to just say, "Well, go get it fixed, we really don't have anything more to do with it".

If that were the case every company in the world could put whatever crud they wanted on the open market, and the consumer would have no recourse.
Again, I point to the analogy of the auto. You buy a brand new car, drive it for 100miles, and the transmissison drops out. No one is going to say this is not the problem of the maker of the car, and is really the problem of the maker of the part.
If that were the case there wouldn't be re-calls, product returns, etc.

I am not asking Fender to rotate the earth backwards. I am simply stating that for a brand new amp to fry after about 20 hours of use is not product quality, and they need to replace the defective part.
This is what would be done in any other purchase situation in the open market.
