I was just thinking about all these new great amps that FMIC has put out recently and I was wondering if there will be a FUSE update to bring these to life in the Bronco 40. I mean, who couldn't use the new Bassman tube series, as well as the new Rumble line of amps? Please let us know what, if anything, is in the future for us diehard Bronco users.

Also, has there been any more discussion in Scottsdale about a larger Bronco for gigging (I'm thinking at least a Rumble 200 with all the fixins') or my idea a couple of years ago, a floor version of the Bronco so that it may be used with another rig?

Hurry, I've got money burning a hole in my pocket...and that's rare!

I've been thinking this myself this week with my recent Bronco 40 purchase, only a few online places even have them in stock right now (online for me only, NOTHING in the Chicago market). I've had a Mustang III since it came out (have a MkII now), and have been holding out hoping for a Bronco 80 or 100 model with something like the MIII-V LCD screen... Alas it has not developed So I figured I'd better get a Bronco while I still can.

Let me explain:

I was somewhat alarmed when the MkII's came out that the Mustang Floor didn't get a revision, and not long a go, all the Mustang's and Bronco "suggested retail" was dropped down to street price (usually a sign a line is about to be dropped/updated). I LOVE my MIII, and I LIKE the Bronco, but it's hard to love the interface compared to a MIII (luckily, I'm a regular FUSE user, so tweaking is identical there). Especially disconcerting for me are multi-color LED's... for my aging and tending towards color-blind eyesight. If there had been a Bronco 80 or 100 anytime since it's release with the MIII screen and a 15" speaker for around $500, I'd already own it.

Since I just got the Bronco, I'll just tweak until I'm happy with the presets and make a list of them on my phone, so once i have them set, I don't have to have Fuse connected and running to remember the settings. Oh, that's another thing, an iOS Fuse interface would be fan-freaking-tastic!

I know down the road when it comes to mod time (I understand about the warranty), The first thing will be a 1/4 switched jack out for the speaker to connect an external cab (which will disconnect the internal speaker when jacked). I've already tried the xlr and headphone jack out to another amp, it's o.k., but both were a bit hummy (it was an xlr to 1/4" cable, so it's probably a ground issue), but it was fine with headphones. I found some of the effects to be noisy as well (like the stompbox envelope filter), but adding a noise gate, or moving it in the signal chain seems to have helped most of those issues.

I'm a bit disheartened at the activity here in Bronco-land compared to Mustangville, but I think that's mainly because this amp is really meant/marketed as a practice/home amp, where the Mustang line is ramped up to gig.

Withing six months of getting my MIII, I sold both my '50's tube rig and FM212R (backup), because I finally had something good enough to replace them with in ONE package.
I don't gig for bass much anymore, but I was kinda hoping to get rid of my 100w bass amp and Line 6 bass floor pod when I got the Bronco. Sound-wise I absolutely could... but power and interface-wise... I'll have to keep my old rig for the occasional job (unless the PA is good enough to take the DI).

I hope you guys keep making and supporting this/these product lines, because after years of dragging around two tons of stuff, it's a pleasure to waltz in with ONE guitar case and ONE amp in ONE trip.

Good post, ux4484. I've asked publicly about either a larger Bronco combo (or separates), but agree with you that the line is probably coming to an end. If not, then someone in the marketing dept has some explaining to do as to why Fender stopped caring about the Bronco.

I'm past worrying it because I just bought a Rumble 500 head and 115 cab, but admit I'd still be interested in a quality floor pedal modeler like the Mustang has. No word as of yet, but hope is eternal. The Bronco has been my favorite practice amp, and I have also used it for smaller acoustic gigs where it's worked flawlessly.

Hi Guys,

Thanks so much to you both for your thoughtful feedback and comments here. We very much appreciate you both taking the time to offer your insights. And I will make sure that the right folks here get a chance to see your posts.

Unfortunately, we are not able to comment on possible future products. But, as always, if and when any new products are released, they will be announced and featured on the Fender® web site (http://www.fender.com/).

Thanks Alan, you have a hit with the Mustang IMO.

Hey, wasn't there a Bronco 20 when they first came out?

It does say Bronco "Series".

Yeah Alan, thank you for your quick response. We know you can't comment publicly, so we'll just wait and see. I've got my hands full with my new Rumble rig, but I do think you'd have a hit with a competitively-priced floor pedal with the FUSE software, definitely the Mustang's LCD readout, and built to last a while.

Personally, I'm not super-enthused about any of the multi-effects pedals currently out there. I just purchased a Zoom MS-60B stomp pedal and do not like the distortions or amp models at all. I'll go to my Bronco 40 before I run through that particular pedal. I'd love some of the Bronco's models to use with my Rumble, especially as a floor pedal.

Alan, tell the guys in the lab costs I'm available for consultation being I've had this pedal vision for over a year now! I'm telling ya, I think they'd sell.
