Hi guys & gals, I just installed fuse last Night with the help of some really cool members here. I was trying to check out some of the member presets. I can`t seem to figure out how to download them. I was hoping someone could help me. When I plug in my amp to the computer, Fire up fuse. Then I click on main menu upper left corner. I then click on View & then Media Library. on the top middle of interface in Computer/web/amp/Device
I clicked on web?? Nothing there. If I click on amp all my settings show. But when I click web just a blue interface. What am I missing?? If I go direct to a preset & click download.
My Windows File save screen pops up with Save in : The folder Is Fender Fuse. But Not sure where I`m am supposed to save it. Now I`m confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

One last thing. I even tried to create a downloads folder. But when I tried to download direct from page. It said something like I don't have permission?? LOL I`m lost!

OK, for question 1 ....

Before you can download any presets, you have to log in to Fender FUSE using your FUSE login/password. The LOGIN button is in the lower-right of the FUSE window. When you're logged in, the indicator in the lower-right will be green, and you will see your FUSE user name. When you're logged out, the indicator is red, and it will say 'Not Logged In'.

Hey ,
Thanks for the detailed explanation. So far if it wasn't for you I probably would still be doing everything through the AMP. LOL SO here is my Question. This is what I`m am doing Maybe you can tell me what I am doing wrong? I have logged in to fuse.
The bottom Is Green. I then Go to upper left of fuse interface click on-Main menu-then Media library. I click community When I click down load. The first few I tried to download I receive a computer prompt saying something about not having permissions. Then the prompt says do I want to save it in my computer(user) folder? Or something like this. What folder are the files supposed to be saved in? The fender fuse folder opens. But there is no preset folder or download folder. Besides the permission issue. Where do I save presets???
Thanks. Hope I didn't confuse you.

I think that might be the issue. You don't have to click Community at the bottom, that will take you to the Fender FUSE website.

So 'soup-to-nuts' this would be the procedure to download a preset to your computer:

1. Log in to FUSE

2. Click Main Menu

3. Click the VIEW menu and select Media Library (CTRL+L)

4. In the upper-right, click WEB (should turn red).

5. If COMPUTER or AMP are red, click them until they are white. Only WEB should be red.

6. Click in the Search box and type something ('Hendrix' for example)

7. Click the GO button

8. When the list populates with presets, locate one you'd like to download.

9. Click to select the preset you'd like to download.

10. Right-click the selected preset and click Download Preset.

11. The preset should download, and immediately the FUSE window will go to the preset editor for that preset. At this point, it should be saved to the computer.

If you still see anything about 'Permissions' check to make sure you are logged on to the computer with a user account which is a member of the Administrators group.

Hey strings, Well thanks to you & hours of my incompetency on the computer I finally have it. I just wanted to come back and thank you, before I spend a few hours messing around. I really appreciate the Help. Also wanted to let any future Fuse users Know. Everything is mapped out here perfectly. In my case. I have a separate Admin account. So if you have the same. You will have to right click & open fuse as Admin. Then You can do all of the functions as described above. Thanks

By the way I am a NY Boy too. Thanks Strings Rock On!

That's funny. Small world. My uncle lives in Nyack. I am In Putnam county. About 1hr away or so. Wanted to also post some of my confusion was based from the Fender fuse Videos. Maybe Fender should update them?? In one of the Vids It shows how to download. There is a part where they show a sub folder inside the Fender fuse folder as place to save?? Oh well. Hopefully I have it now. :)

yep Putnam is right around the corner. I think that Fender video might have been describing how to download presets directly from the website, it can be done that way too, although I personally always go through the Media Library search.

I always download presets from the fuse site then open them from the fuse application which automatically drops them in the local fuse library. Then I go to there (Blue window) and right click on said preset and choose “Save Preset to Amp”

I have terrible luck getting Mac OS 10.6.8 to consistently load presets from the web in the media library window. Its intermittent.

P.S. New Yorker here too… spent my early childhood on Long Island, highschool and college years in Florida (Clearwater area) moved to NYC after that to persue career. Now I live in PA and commute to NYC for my job.

I grew up in Long Island too. Originally from Levittown, but at times lived in Long Beach, Bay Shore, Deer Park and Ronkonkoma.

Hey guys. So I have another Question. With the help of Strings here I was able to get started at least. while I was able to download presets and play around with some. I basically played with them While on the Amp. After you right click & download. Under what tab can you go back to retrieve them? I`m still lost.

Also
Part 2. can you save settings from your amp to fuse? How do you do that?

Thanks Again for Help.

There are different ways to pull them up. You can:

1. Open preset from the menu. Should open to the Fuse 'Presets' folder containing everything in you library.

2. In the left hand Blue field where it says "Abbey Road" above. You can click on the amp icon on the left and choose "PC". Then use the drop down arrow on the right to choose presets from your library

3. Click the "Media Library" button on the right and select "Computer". Double click on the desired preset to load it into the editor.

You can save a preset from your amp to you PC by doing a Save as from the menu. You
can't enter any preset info unless you are logged with you fuse credentials.

Once your preset is in you library, you can right click on it in the "media library" window and choose "upload to fuse" to put it on the website.

If I tweak more than one preset I just do a backup of the amp from the utilities menu. For me its faster and easier to keep track of my amp. YMMV

Hope that helps
