I just purchased a Mustang I and keep getting the No amplifier error message. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall the software a few times and this doesn't resolve the issue. I also validated my drivers and can see that the Mustang Amp does show up as an installed device on my PC. I have a new HP Envy PC running windows 8.1. Please let me know what I can do to address this issue.
Thanks
Dubh

Hi Milton555,

We are sorry to hear that you are running into some trouble with Fender FUSE on your PC. Please let us know how things are going and if we can assist beyond the Troubleshooting PDF that "strings10927" had referred you to.

Best Regards,

Hi. I had the same problem with a Mustang I for about a year & a half. Fender was absolutely no help. I had vrs 2.7.1 and tried all the driver mumbo jumbo the techs told me. It was even suggested that my computer(brand new) was at fault. Lol! This was not an uncommon problem and the response, sad to say was not uncommon.
By $@!& luck, I stumbled upon the fix today. I found a link to vrs 2.6. DL'd it and installed after removing 2.7.1. When I opened it informed me of new version, 2.7.1 so clicked update...same problem.
Deleted and tried again(2.6) this time refusing update. Sure as $@!&, it works. Here is link:
http://fender-fuse.software.informer.com/2.6/

Good luck, try it both ways.

Hi theodoreblanner,

We apologize for any frustrations you may have experienced with regard to direct support from Fender®. We are very happy to assist our Consumers. We are happy to see that installing the older build of Fender FUSE™ resolved the No Amp Connected issue you were experiencing. I am not sure exactly which build of Fender FUSE you got from the third party web site. But I wanted to make you aware that we have a legacy build available in the Fender Forums (viewtopic.php?f=26&t=73607). This is a 2.6.1 build. By the way, are you running Windows 8? It would be helpful for us to know.

With that said, we will check things out a bit further here to see if we can reproduce the specific behavior and set of resolution steps that you are reporting. Typically, the no amp connected behavior is related to USB bus issues and/or other related software running in the background. So we will check things out here and update any related support information as appropriate. Thanks for reporting this.

Best Regards,

Alan

I had the same problem connecting a new Mustang 1 (V.2) to my HP Envy running Windows 8 and Fender Fuse 7.1. I resolved the issue by disabling "HP Battery Indicator" and "HP LED Indicator" startup programs. Pull up the Task Manager and select the Startup tab. Right click on the each HP Indicator program, then select Disable. Log out, log back in, and see if Fuse detects your amp.

FWIW, I was trying to help you out in early February of this year, but you abandoned the thread:

viewtopic.php?f=26&t=92017

And then Fender TSL responded to your rant .... err request for assistance in late February of this year, and that also went unanswered:

viewtopic.php?f=27&t=92471

Anyway, glad to hear you're getting along better! :D
