I would love to see the Mustang get android support. While the Fuse program is fun, taking around a laptop is not. I know you can adjust things on the amp, but the software is just so much easier. Plus you get the added benefit of extra amps on your computer. I would love to see android support for this, and be able to make adjustments from the tablet.

Also It would be great to have an easy way to switch the order of the amps.

You must mean for the next generation, as the current Mustang series does not support Bluetooth.

He didn't say anything about Bluetooth. Android devices generally have USB connectivity.

... and USB requires a Master device and a Slave device.

You've got your Fender Mustang amp, and a tablet or smart phone - which is Master?

USB On-The-Go where the device can act as both Master and Slave depending on what it's hooked up to has been part of Android since version 3.1, i.e. May 2011. My Sony Xperia certainly supports it.
It would require no hardware changes on the Mustang end. Just a new cable and software.

to use it for this application would be, IMO pointless because the whole thing is you don't want to be tied down ... but how long is the battery on your Android device going to last in USB Master mode?

It actually could pretty slick with an Android tablet. I get about 8 hours out of a charge it would be more compact than my laptop.

Do have deal with the master / slave chipset but it really could be great for gigs

Well somebody did a FUSE-like for linux a while ago:

http://code.piorekf.org/plug/downloads

I'm pretty sure that with some will and skills this could be adapted to android, as I don't see fender rushing to build fuse for android themselves

Any updates on this Fender? I think this would be a good time, as Apple is having a go in their current commercial with musicians using the iPhone as an amp go between.

Line 6 has a model you can control from an iPhone. I would get rid of my mustang in a heartbeat if line6 had Android support. Whoever comes out with Android support 1st wins.
Fender, this could be a really good defensive move. Using the control panel is just too much of a pain beyond switching presets.
