I'm not sure if it's actually possible, but it would be nice if I could get a sort of sneak-peak before I download a preset for my amp. Is this possible? So I'm not just downloading randomly and hoping for the best? Or do I need to save the preset to my amp, hook up my guitar and hear it through there?

Thank you guys! :D

Extra info - I've got latest version of Fender FUSE.
My amp is the Fender Mustang V2 (if that serves any purpose).

Not unless someone posts a link to a sounclip created with their preset. And even with that you'd only get a ballpark as their pickups etc might differ.

Ratings and comments from other users are helpful and I tend to avoid presets with no description.

Good luck

This is a great question. I understand the reply but it seems like since Fender came up with the sampling in the first place they could have a button on each preset page that played that preset through a 'generic' guitar through a few of the same sample chords/licks for every one. This would at least give you a ballpark as to what the preset sounded like. It would make it a lot easier to find ones you wanted to download.

thanks,

Willie

Fuse just tells the amp what to do and the preset you download tells fuse what to tell the amp to do. So there isn’t really anything for a sampled guitar clip to play through until its loaded onto an amp. Unless they had a web based Mustang Amp emulator which I don’t see happening. I’d prefer they add more functionality to the amps. Like two stomps or a better fuzz or add a univibe or something.

Yes but it wouldn't be that hard to take an uploaded preset, load it in Fuse and put through a standard audio file of a guitar being played

(Don't say we need real pick attack.. a guitar output is electricity that can be digitised)

Ok so we have lets say 4 sounds (single coils/humbuckers chords/picked notes)
Put them through the preset, record it with a microphone (usb out is not so good) convert to mp3, upload

Any tech company worth its name could do that with a few scripts.
Fender are just not very pro-active on this ..

The whole preset site is in need of an overhaul..
Fender could have two web developers spend a month on it and update it.. but again I don't think they have a professional in-house team of top notch web devs.

Yes that would be great. It would just require an emulator of some kind for fuse to control. And a web based version of fuse to load the uploaded preset into. Sure it can be done, it will just require more than the fuse app as that processes no audio whatsoever. Its just a GUI

I'd like to be able to edit and delete uploaded presets right on the site as well

Would be great if you could edit them I agree
I also found it a hassle downloading dozens and then deleting most.
I hardly download any now as I figure I can get to what I want by editing in Fuse.. though after a while all my presets get closer and closer in sound.
I just think the library site needs some better way to find what you want - a bit of restructuring all round. There's too many sub categories - Fender need to appoint an editor!

Word. And audio previews should be part of that. The technology is there!

I hear ya.

Every now and then you find a Gem. I downloaded a few presets recently from Intheblues that were pretty awesome. That user has a Youtube page where he demos his presets against the real amp and gets the preset as close as possible. Even has blind tests. Downloaded a Tremolux preset made with the 57 Champ that is now one of my favorite presets. Made a couple variations, one with the Fuzz stomp and the other with the Greenbox (Tubescreamer) and Tape delay on both and it sounds huge. You'd never think it was the 57 Champ model. Definitely worth bookmarking his fuse page. What was cool with that one is that i don't normally go to the 57 Champ but this just worked.

Until the overhaul happens and a real time Mustang Amp emulator is offered on the site, descriptions are key as are the comments and Ratings.
