I have recently bought a Mustang 3 and am trying to get into using the Fuse software maybe I am not too bright or just too old, not only does the on line Pdf not quite match what appears on my laptop screen but, the information seems sadly lacking in detail is there anything out there on this software written for complete idiots?
Your advice would be much appreciated.

Welcome.

Sadly, you have uncovered the only significant flaws in the product line, poor documentation and not-too-smoothly-operating software.

Check out the 'sticky posts' at the top of the list for problems loading or initializing the software. Search this forum and the related Mustang forum for specific issues with how to find the tones you want.

Do you have specific problems/failures, or...(sigh), is it just a bit confusing of how to get started? Reply with some details, screenshots, etc., and we (and TSL) will jump in and get you on your way.

Hang in there, it is truly worth the effort.

Cheers.

A big +1 to this, there are people on this forum who really know what they're doing. Ask here and you shall receive.

Thank you for your reply everyone it is difficult for me to be specific about the problems I have had so far however, I will try.
I am trying to manually put in the settings for a Hank Marvin sound (shows my age lol) that I found in the forums the poster is also using a Mustang 3 I thought to do a full manual set up would help me to learn.
The problems I have found so far is what I set on the amp controls is not always quite matched on the software display or visa versa I appreciate this may vary slightly but, which should I assume is correct?
One of the settings was a bias of 3% I assume I have to guess this as there is apparently no detailed information feedback when I turn the bias knob on the computer display.
The settings information given was very specific on all the settings to one decimal point which again I assume is just guesswork because it is not always displayed in such detail on the software or on the amp.
The stomp compressor the ratio given is 354 I only seem to be able to get 352 and 356 on the amp and software not sure how critical these numbers are.
I open up a window for one setting type and there is a box or panel showing 4-6 control knobs not a clue what they all do or the effect they may have and there is no information in the on line instructions. Unfortunately, I just don’t have the time to experiment and produce my own help manual.
Perhaps I'm approaching all this from the wrong direction, the last amp I had was a tube model with 12" speaker in a cast iron frame, 3 control knobs and a preset on off reverb pretty standard in the 60's lol.
So, as amps go I'm going straight from a model T to a Lexus so, this makes me conclude that I am part of the problem due to my lack of technical knowledge of modern audio enhancement equipment.
All I can do is come on here but, I hate to be a pain in the butt to you guys by asking dumb questions.

Breathe. Do it again.

Now that you are relaxed...

The actual dial settings are not as critical as you think to get 'that sound'. Your guitar, your playing style, your room furnishings will also have a strong effect on what 'that sound' will actually be for you.

What guitar are you using? What is your playing style? M3 can be a bit of a beast at high volumes and will sound different at very low volumes...Where are you playing? Home and away, or just in your living room?

Take some time and play some presets to get an idea of what the various sounds are like...not necessarily Hank Marvin...just see what's on your amp and download some presets posted by other users. Post a sound clip of Hank Marvin and maybe someone can steer you in the right direction?

Search the Fender support pages for the "CyberTwin" manual...an older product, but the descriptions of the FX modules is close enough to tell you what happens when you twist the knobs.

Mordor74 has graciously collected popular presets and descriptions of FX and other features for our benefit (!). Check out the links...

Still breathing? Good. Now go play your guitar!

Cheers.

“Now that you are relaxed” You got me right there, I was getting discouraged. I’d been using an old XP laptop for Fuse, transferred it to a new laptop its running faster and smoother probably psychological but, things seemed to work well for me tonight read a few links and actually got very close to the sound that I wanted and that boosted my confidence.
I’m using an American Strat Deluxe my playing style is just everything I enjoy from folk, to blues, old 60’s to metal just what suits my mood at the time I started again after a break of over 40 years and play to please myself and to improve my playing, I’m too old to gig like I used to.
I use an area that is a reasonable size and not heavily furnished, not too sound deadened and not too reflective. Noise level is not a major problem as apart from my wife there is no one else near enough to disturb but, I keep it comfortable no louder than 4-5max
I do appreciate the links and will certainly look into them. I got the Mustang 3 because my musical taste is so varied and the 3 seemed to fit what I wanted at a very affordable price somewhat over powered for my use but, I wanted the screen feature on the amp.
Thanks for all your help, I’ve no doubt I’ll be back on the forum again from time to time and hopefully eventually learn enough to help others.
