I bought a mustang 3 just one month before the V2 came out. I come here to download presets and they are all v2. I'm selling this amp and going with something else.

If you can afford to dump out of the amp after a month, you must be a wealthy guy.

There are actually more "V1" presets available than V2 at this time. In Fuse, click "Community", from the pull down menu select "MustangTM" (this is the choice immediately above "MustangTM V2), click "Download Presets".

The Mustang series is SOOOOO different it takes a bit getting use. I steered away from modeling amps years. (Actually owned one, but just used defaults and treated it like a single channel amp.) Once you get the feel for Fuse and using the amp with a computer hooked up, you will likely find you can get a couple years out of your V1 'Stang.

Well you bought a v1 amp expecting to use v1 presets.

ALL those same v1 presets are still available, so that hasn't changed.

Is this just the amp version of 'iPhone envy'?

Seriously though, my v1 is what it is, and I really don't see any need to upgrade to a v2. The extra amp models sound cool, but they're nothing I'm dying to have. The original amp models give such a huge pallet, I just don't need anything else. YMMV.

Honestly I think just about every patch I've downloaded from fuse uses amp models available on the V1 and I have yet to download a patch that uses any of the new stomps. I'd give it a ew more minutes with it before you trade up

Hi kobwo,

We are sorry to hear that you have had a frustrating experience with your Fender® amp. As strings10927 pointed out, there are a great number of Presets on the Fender FUSE Community for the Fender® Mustang™ V1 amps. However, we understand if you needed to make a different decision regarding your amp. But please let us know if we can assist with anything.

Best Regards,

I have one of each, a V1 Mustang 1 and a V2 Mustang 2. I really don't see a big difference. And there's an algorithm built-into Fuse that converts V2 presets to V1 and vice versa, or so it seems.

If you're totally "anal" you might want to have everything perfectly updated, but in practice I find I always end up tweaking any presets, and in the end I make things sound my way, anyway, and I make them sound about the same on the two amps. And objectively the DSP amp and speaker models overlap 90%, and there are only a couple of effects that are different, like the way the pitch shift has less range in V1.

You want to go with something else? Like what? The Mustangs are probably the best bang for the buck small amps on the market. Nothing IMHO comes close, unless you're looking for a 500 watt stack with metal distortion. "Something else" doesn't compare, because these little guys convincingly deliver the personality of several older Fender amps, the emulations are that good, I think.

You could get ONE of the amps the Mustangs model, for many times the price, and you'd have just ONE personality. I have a 1965 Twin Reverb with EV-12s, it's a great amp, but in the studio I always end up using one of the Mustangs, because they're portable, they can simulate more than just the Twin, and they sound just fine. So what's the point of getting something less just because you're unhappy about not having the version 2?

Don't feel too bad, I got my Mustang V V1 3 weeks before the V2 was released. I received it as a birthday gift so there was no way to return it for the V2, After a year of using this V1 amp there are more than enough amp models and effects to get any sound I want, So the new models and effects of the V2 are trivial, It would be nice to have extra effects and models but it is not by any means a neccessity, Downloading other people's presets is a nice feature, but the Fuse interface is so easy to navigate that dialing in your own tones is super easy and more rewarding,
