All,
I just got a Mustang Floor to run through my Hot Rod Deluxe for on stage use. I used to run Mustang III a few years ago. I loved the versatility of my Mustang III, but next to the other tube amps on stage, it just never really cut through and sounded a too "digital" and harsh on stage at high volumes. So I sold it. I really miss all the extra sounds and tones I used to play, and am trying to get the best of both worlds. Wish they had the Floor in a V.2 - but I digress.

Anyway - sorry for the ramble. When I had my old setup for stage use, I had the 4 button and 2 button pedals on my Mustang III. I would make preset 0 (assigned to button1) my clean. Then preset2 (assigned to button2) would be my light overdrive for blues. Then preset 5 (assigned to button3) would be my distortion.

Then - I would fill in the other tones like chorus on preset 1, light overdrive with reverb on 3, distortion with flanger on 4, heavier distortion for leads on 6, etc. So that once I picked a "main" preset, I could easily go up or down (on the 2 button footswitch) from that number for the other "like" tones. make sense?

With the Mustang floor, if I put it in preset mode, it will let me change to the "main" presets like I used to do, however, the two button (up/down) then tries to have me pick different banks. If I put the selector switch in bank mode, then the up/down works properly, but then I don't have the ability for the presets to work, its changing banks....

I think in the old amp you changed how the 2 button footswitch worked, so that it would change presets and the 4 button would also have presets at the same time. I think the answer here is "you cant do that" - but in case someone came up with a creative solution, send it on please!

Hi tjthorson,

If I understand your question correctly, it sounds like you are needing to clarify the Preset navigation on the Fender® Mustang™ Floor. If that is the case, the "Down/Up" buttons on the Floor move you from Bank to Bank in groups of 5. Additionally, the five buttons along the bottom row will step you through the five Presets in the current Bank you have called up with the own/Up buttons.

Please let us know if we can assist further.

Best Regards,

Well- I think you didn't understand the question, but you answered with what I don't want to do, thus confirming the floor is not as configurable as the 3 with the 2 different pedals, But, I think that is workable.

What I wanted was like I had my old Mustang III. At the same time, without any extra buttons to hit to change a mode, I wanted the presets along the bottom to be patches 0,2,5 etc..... Then, if I was on the preset 2, I want the up/down to go to 3 or 1, if I was on patch 5, the up/down would go to 4 or 6 - instead of changing banks with the up/down....

But, what I think I can do is spread my presets out by bank and go from there...It will give me more choices, I just have to practice more so I don't screw it up on stage. :)

Thanks.
