:? When my MIIv2 is connected to Fuse, there are a handful of presets sitting on my PC (not stored on the amp) that result in the following Alert:

This is a Mustang I/II Preset
Incompatibilities
Stomp module was removed

Example of presets causing this alert: Fuzzy Wuzzy, Marshall Fuzzy WAH, mustangfuzzybuzzy, mustangfuzzy-whoozy-princeton, and mustangmarshall-fuzzy-wah

Seems like the common denominator is fuzz in the presets. The alert only occurs when the amp is connected, otherwise, the preset loads without a stomp but also without the alert popup msg. I tried re-downloading the presets in question, but received the same alert. All other presets load fine in Fuse. Firmware is current as it was updated only a few days ago. Appreciate your time to respond with feedback and guidance. Thanks in advance.

OK, getting closer to the mystery: Those listed presets all use a stompbox called FUZZTWAH that is, apparently, no longer an option in the current version of FUSE (at least for my MIIv2 amp). Yet the "Compatibility" tag within the preset states, "Mustang v.2". I discovered this by downloading the presets listed above again, but opening each without having the amp connected. This displayed the FuzzyWAH stompbox.

Fender - care to clear this up please ... and kindly suggest a work-around? Thanks

Hi WhatKindaGuy,

We will be happy to assist. This sounds interesting. You should not be seeing any limitations with your Fender® Mustang™ (V.2) amplifier and Mustang Presets. The behavior you described is expected on the Fender® Mustang (V.1) amplifiers. Could you please verify the firmware version you currently have loaded on your amplifier to make sure that you, in fact, have a Mustang (V.2) amplifier. This can be done by selecting the Help menu inside the Fender® Fuse™ application and selecting the About Fender Fuse option. Once here, your amplifiers firmware version will be displayed in the upper-right portion of the this window. Please let us know and we will be happy to assist further.

Hi - thanks for the reply and instructions. The FUSE About window indicates I'm running firmware "2.1 - (Apr 2 2013)". I reloaded the firmware, verified firmware 2.1, shut off the amp, closed the FUSE site, reconnected to the site, turned on the amp, re-downloaded preset Fuzzy Wuzzy, selected the preset from the computer and still getting the same alert in FUSE saying:

This is a Mustang I/II Preset
Incompatibilities
Stomp module was removed

Ditto for the Marshall Fuzzy WAH preset, too. The back of the amp shows the decal as a MIIv2 model and it is colored black in the front (not the v1 carbon fiber look). BTW, are MIIv2 stomps supposed to include the FUZZTWAH option? Again, this is included in the problematic presets, but not an option if I add a stomp and click the drop-down arrow to display its options. Perhaps this is a clue to resolving this alert. FYI, I'm running 2.7.1 version of FUSE. Your thoughts?

Hi WhatKindaGuy,

Thanks for your feedback. After clarification from our engineers, it does appear as if the Fuzz Touch Wah effect option, was removed for the Fender® Mustang™ V.2 firmware. This would explain the behavior you are seeing. As an option, the Fuzz Touch Wah can be
implemented/replaced using Fuzz + Touch Wah in the MOD position. Please let us know if this helps and if we can assist further.

Thanks for the confirmation and work-around. I'm just surprised no one else reported a similar occurrence. I've only had the amp for less than a month and ran into the issue on the identified presets. Oh well, glad you uncovered the exact reason for the alert - much thanks again for your attention given to my post :D

Time to rock on ...
