Changed strings recently and now when I plug in to the Mustang 1 I get a loud buzzing sound. I am using a Strat and when I place the selector switch in either 1 of the single pick-ups, the buzzing gets louder. If I go to a pre-set like British 80's, American 90's or even anything but clean, the buzzing is loud.
Does anyone know of a solution or what is causing this problem? Didn't have this problem before I changed strings.

Hi whd1952,

We will be happy to assist. Is it possible that you changed string gauge or tuning? In this case, you might need to check the setup of your guitar, to make sure the strings aren't buzzing against the fretboard. There can be several factors why you hear a rattle, but if you didn't hear a rattle before you changed strings, then that leads us to believe that the issue lies with the guitar. Do you have a second amplifier you could plug your guitar into, to see if you could reproduce the behavior there? Please let us know and we will be happy to assist further.

There is a thread re: "mechanical" Buzz after re string http://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=86313

or..........

Are you talking about mains hum? If so try disconnecting any other equipment from your supply to isolate and identify. See article
Are you picking up interference from a computer or router. If I'm closer than 2m. my Strat will pick up interference from the PC. This can happen on PCs with custom cases that have see through panels that don't efficiently shield RF frequencies
