I have a Mustang IV and would like to know if the amp can be directly connected to my computer to start recording some tracks.
a brief how to or a link to some how to's would be great.
The Ableton website doesn't cover what I'm asking.
My feeling is that the amp CAN indeed be coupled to the computer/software.
At least that's the way Fender makes it sound.
Thanks in advance!

the amp connects to USB, your computer reads the amp as a USB audio device, I don't use Ableton.. Too hard to learn Ableton when there are so many other programs that are much easier, Ok you will have to go into your audio settings in Ableton and select fender mustang as your input, maybe somebody else will have more insight into the Ableton program, I just don't care for Ableton,

Cool, that's a start.
I agree with you about the complexity of the software.

cool, sorry I couldn't be of more help to you, I would suggest checking the Ableton help file for recording an audio input. I imagine you are using ASIO4ALL driver, when you open Ableton you should see about bringing up the Setup or settings and make sure Mustang is on your ASIO4ALL settings.

Hi motoman37,

I will be happy to assist. You are not limited to using your Fender® Mustang™ IV amp with the Ableton Live Lite 8 software, but that is the DAW that we officially fully support. Please take a look at the link below to help guide you through the process of connecting your Fender® Mustang™ IV to a DAW. If you happen to be on a Windows machine, you need to install the Fender® Universal ASIO driver in order to record using the USB cable on your amp.

I Use Windows and Asio4All driver, I never Installed the Fender Asio4All driver, I just use the one you get from asio4all.com and I have no problems connecting my amp and recording usb, I believe that the Fender Asio4All driver is the same thing as ASIO4ALL drivers
