Howdy

This is my first post here and as the subject says, I'm looking for help and links. I am sure there are previous posts with answers to my questions so I hope somebody will post them here since I am unable to find what I need. I have a G-Dec30 which I love , and I have Fender Fuse ,which is great and works great. My questions are:

1st. In Fuse, when I select a wav file on my computer to play thru the G-Dec, it will not loop. It does down load, syncs and plays thru the amp but won't loop. Do I have to go thru the amp menu and recheck the Loop box, and does this effect the original track settings ?

2nd. To eliminate the issues of question one, can I replace band track wav files on the G-Dec hard drive and import wav files from my Fuse media library ? Can I do this without messing with an SD card ? There are a number of band tracks I want to dump and replace with other Fender wav files. I am trying to add some Country tracks to my Blues edition.

I have read and researched but I can't find my answers.G-Dec and Fuse has SO many features and capabilities I am just now scratching the surface but the down side of that is it cuts into my playing time LoL. We used to say many years ago, that's just more B.S. between you and the truth so I hope someone can help reduce my research/learning curve time so I can increase my playing/fun time :-)

Thanks

PS sorry if this post should be in G-Dec, but Fuse is more current and active. Thx.

Hi BufordBlues and welcome!
The answer to your 2nd question is in this thread from the GDec section of the Forum
viewtopic.php?f=25&t=84157&hilit=replace+band+tracks

I see from your sig file that you played for Bo Diddley....he is one of my heroes...I'm impressed 8)

Thx for the reply and for the link. I am a little on the old side so I am a little on the slow side when it comes to all the comp/download/file swapping stuff but I eventually get it done. I appreciate your help. Playing with BD was an honor and a privilege, he's an American icon. Bump da bump bump, bump bump

"Bump da bump bump, bump bump ".....very nice  Long ago, when I was feeling stressed out, I'd grab my acoustic guitar and either play some Bo Diddley or Chuck Berry as fast as I could go...always worked :D

I was checking fuse; I have an older version...2.3, so don't know if there will be a difference to yours, but if I choose a file from media library (pc), right click and select Load Band Track, then click on Preset Editor to get back to the amp and preset of interest, the band track is there, ready to go. I have to click on the BAND button (beside the START button) and select Repeat and then I click on preview/stop to play the band track. When I'm finished playing along with the track, cancel gets me back.
As long as you don't press the Save button, your preset and associated band track won't be overwritten. You can simply use the up or down arrow beside the preset name to toggle to another preset then back to your original one and all will be as it was before you loaded the new band track.
I've crossed over to the older side myself...not so bad :D
cheers,
Alex

Ok, the "Save" is what I'm looking for. There are a number of tracks on the G-Dec that I would like to replace with some of the Country Edition tracks. I was wondering why on the G-Dec the "Save" button was flashing red while I played a track loaded from Fuse out of my computer library.

So all I have to do is select a track I don't like on G-Dec, load one I want from Fuse, then click the "Save" on the G-Dec and it will overwrite the original G-Dec track, correct ?

That would be great if that's how it works. I will give it a try. Thanks so much.

Actually, I don't think that hitting the save button will overwrite the old band track with the new one on the hard drive. I think that the save button will just associate the new band track with the preset. I tried this on my G Dec and found that a file on my pc could be associated with a preset using the procedure in my email above, only if it was on my SD card as well as on the pc...when I tried it with the SD card removed from the GDec, it would play, but not be associated when I hit save...got the band missing display on both the GDec and in Fuse. Then to make things even better, both the GDec and Fuse hung and I had to restart both.
You can choose Save to Amp Hard Drive as an option when you right click on the Band Track from Fuse, but unless you remove tracks from your HD, you'll quickly run out of space.
It's best to use a properly formatted SD card for storing band (and extra preset) tracks. SD cards are pretty cheap...I've got an 8 GB one in my amp and it's got way more space than I need!
