Hi,
I am stuck and I need some help. I have a Mustang 1 and I have downloaded this preset: https://fuse.fender.com/mustang/presets ... s-everlong

The preset loads fine within Fuse and I can hear the effects through the amp. However, whenever I try and save the preset to my amp I get an error message that says, "Preset file not found or corrupted. Please load another preset file". I have redownloaded, and readded the preset and nothing seems to allow me to dave the preset back to the amp.

Also, when I have the preset playing through the amp and I click the Advanced settings I do see another totally different error message pop up. It looks like an internal fuse error message. But the program doesn't crash and the preset continues to work within the software.

Thanks for your help.

Try this:
  • Close and restart FUSE if it's opened
  • Above th "NEW" button, there is a little amp icon with a down arrow to the right of it. Click on it and select "PC" (on Windows).
  • Above and between the SAVE and "DELETE" buttons there is a down arrow. Click on it and select the new preset to load it into FUSE.
  • Press the SAVE button.

Do this for all the newly downloaded presets. You will notice that 2 of every preset you do this to will be listed in the drop down selection menu.

Close and reopen FUSE and load the preset and save it to the amp.

If you have a file manage opened to: ..\Documents\Fender\FUSE\Presets, you will notice that FUSE renames the file when you save it from (example) mustangname-of-preset to MU_Name of Preset (M2_ on v2 amps).

But it does more than this.

If you open a freshly downloaded preset in a text editor, you'll see it has only one long line of text. But, if you open a preset saved by FUSE in a text editor it will be newly formated and have line breaks.

It could be that the file on the FUSE community server needs to be in a specific format but that format, while readable by FUSE, may not be readable by the amp.

OR

Everything I wrote above is garbage and the preset is just plain corrupted.

Thanks for the tips.I gave this a shot and while the preset works within fuse, whenever I try and save it to the amp I still get that error message.

Would someone mind trying to save the preset to their amp to see if they have the same issue? Thanks again

Just tried it and it won't save to the amp for me either.

It looks like the preset file is corrupted. Since you say an error occurs when you try to access Advanced Amp settings, the corrupted information likely is within the perimeters on that page. If FUSE lets you view that page, try making changes on that page, saving the file to computer and then try saving it to the amp.

Good luck

Thanks a ton for trying. I do get the same error message when I view the advanced settings. I am glad to know it's not just me.

Now I just need to figure out how to recreate this preset so I can save it to my amp. This preset works great for Everlong.

Thanks again for your help.

One last thing you can try.

Note what amp model is being used and write down on a piece of paper the settings for Gain, Volume, etc. then create a new preset, choose that amp model and give it all the same settings. For the effects, click the IMPORT button, choose the preset file and when asked, import just the FX.

Save it with a new name and hopefully it won't be corrupted.

Thanks for the help. I tried this approach and it pretty much worked. It doesn't sound exactly the same, there must be something extra in the advanced settings, but it sounds pretty good.

Thanks again for your help.

I just played with this a bit.

When I try to look at the advanced amp settings on the original preset, it sometimes comes up with the "Sag" set to a tad above 9:00. That setting is impossible bc the sag has only 3 possible settings - Less, Matched and More.

On your new preset, leave the Sag alone or set it to "Less" and just play with turning the "Bias" up a little at a time.
