I just updated to the new version of fuse, the software recognizes my amp, when I select create new preset and start making changes on the screen only the first change is recognized by my amp, anything else I do makes no change to the sound of the amp, at first I thought it was a windows xp issue. so I tried the software on a windows 7 machine and the same thing happened, the new version of the fuse software is not working for me on win xp or win 7, I have the mustang V version 1, is anybody else having these problems ? Is it a firmware issue ? I like the amp alot but feel cheated because I got it brand new 2 weeks before the V2 came out and now it isn't playing well with my computer., anyway hope somebody fixes the software soon, the fuse software is necessary for getting the best sounds out of the amp

This happened to me once yesterday. It happened after opening and closing FUSE about 5-6 times during the day. Closing FUSE and starting it agian did not solve the problem for me - I had to reboot the computer to get things working again.

I thought it might be because I use a fairly long USB cable (12') that doesn't have a "booster" (or whatever) built-in and FUSE just lost communication.

I used FUSE several hours after the reboot and most of this morning without issue.

Hi...
I don't think it's your cable length, though your cable itself may be faulty. I'm using 2 usb cables joined by a coupler to go from my G Dec to my laptop and the total run is about 15 feet. There's no 'booster'.
cheers,
Alex

Hi Kreature,

We will be happy to assist. Could you please tell us a bit more about the signal path you are using. Are you connecting your amp to the computer directly, or do you use a USB hub? Please let us know and we can take it from there.

after trying a few different things I got it to work, I had the USB cable directly connected to the computer, that wasn't working like it should, strangely enough I hooked up a USB hub and connected the amp to the hub and it seems to be working, thanks for the replies, if I have anymore problems I will be back, thanks again

I'm curious if your USB hub has a separate power supply on it.

USB ports on computers are often under-powered/over utilised.

no it's just a standard 4 port hub, it only solved the problem partially. I ended up having the same problem again, after trying everything I was about to give up but decided to download the program again and uninstall then reinstall and now all is well, with or without the usb hub, I think that there may have been something wrong with the installer that I downloaded the first time, or something went wrong during the installation, could have been the download or may have been something I did wrong, I finally got it working right though,

Bug report

I updated to 2.7 from 2.6 and when I would choose a preset form my amp through FUSE on the computer with the amp plugged in it would not change to the new amp setting. When I uninstalled 2.7 and reinstalled 2.6 it works again. The Mustang is on 1.9.

thanks,

Willie

Hi Willie Caswell,

Thanks for reporting this. We will try to recreate here in the Tech Support Lab. Have you tried updating to firmware version 1.10? If not, you may want to do that, then try the same procedure. Please let us know how it is going. Thanks very much.

Thanks tech. Now I see a new firmware version for my amp here http://www.fender.com/support/articles/ ... mplifiers/ and will try it when I get bored of fiddling with presets which might not be soon ;)
