I'm new to Fuse and I find it not exactly user friendly.

After logging in to the community (many times, as it asks me to do so after almost every page I try) I select a preset that I'd like to download to my G-DEC 3. When I click the download button, either nothing happens or the button simply greys out.

Could you tell me what I'm doing wrong. My G-DEC is connected, I'm logged into Fuse and into the community but nothing helps. I've seen instructions on the forum to click on the Media Library button, but I don't see that anywhere. If I do a search for Media Library, I'm taken to a blue page with no items listed.

Help!

I just realized that version 2.70 has been issued. I installed it and most of my issues have been cleared up.
I've managed to download a preset and loaded into the Preset file on my SD card, but the G-DEC can't seem to find it.

Should I be loading it into the Audio file?

I'm having problems too. Do you get pages and messages like those I've posted in the first post of this thread? I've been having trouble for a couple of days now.

Success, finally!

As I mentioned earlier, the latest release of Fender Fuse fixed the preset downloading problem.

To install it on my G-DEC, I finally realized that I needed to use the Import button to access the downloaded preset on my computer, then assign it to overwrite an existing preset on the G-DEC.

Pretty fundamental to anyone who has done it before, but not too intuitive to someone who hasn't.

If you keep having issues getting the downloads to work, for presets and backing tracks, try downloading them directly from the website with fuse turned off. The browser in a fuse window seems to be broken on my end.

Using firefox I just go to fuse.fender.com. I download the presets and tracks there, and manually put them into the folder in the fuse software. fender/fuse/presets and audio files is where you put them.

The Fuse software is as much a part of the Fender modeling amps as the hardware itself. They need to get the software working just as it did before they made some uninformed decision that broke the working Fuse platform for many of us.

If it's not fixed and soon, my Fender Mustang Floor and Twin Reverb go back to the store. I have about 1 1/2 weeks to return it. Will give Fender three days and it all goes back for a refund. Will purchase another brand amp and modeler next time.

Hi Everyone,

Thank you so much for your feedback. Our web team is currently working on resolving this issue. In the meantime we ask that you login to your Fender FUSE application, and use the Media Library section to search and download Presets/Band Tracks. Please be patient while we try to resolve this issue.

That's been my preferred method for managing files for a variety of reasons. However, as I've noted in this thread, this method breaks down (a recent problem) for presets including some special characters including parenthesis which are used fairly frequently.

This doesn't fit the problem description in the sticky (announcement) thread above, so I hope a developer looks at that one specifically. Especially since googling led me to an apparent fix which I also included in that thread.

It seems that the "Media Library" workaround seems to be liberally applied when anything smells like a Web or "Community" issue.

Download process is still broken, Feb. 22, 2013. Even in a browser window, request a download and you get automatically logged out. Look for a redundant check to see if someone is logged in before they download anything--your security is way past too tight.

Why can't I ever see a webpage that has presets and backing track buttons side by side? I only have one or the other, and no clear path to find the other one. And when you manually download the presets or tracks, why can't you check off boxes and download multiples? Because right now it keeps logging me out, even in a browser window. I have to log in, back up, log in, find the preset, log in. Since I can only download one preset or one track at a time, it takes forever, so I am sure some folks just give up. And why would I want to rate presets and tracks before I use them? Means many of your ratings are bogus. And after I download and use a preset, then for the first time I see the name of a backing track that goes with it, on my fuse computer screen--but now I have to go look for it? I guess putting notes on the download page for that kind of info is a little too complex.

It's working for me. I just downloaded 3 presets using Google Chrome as my browser and had no problems.
I'm using win7 64 bit on a HP laptop.
Very strange.....

I'm getting the same result (no problem from the web) with one variation. Would you mind clicking the preset link I highlighted above in my last post and see what happens?

The logout issue I can reproduce from within Fuse 2.6 using the embedded browser via community button - but not in chrome or Firefox on windows directly to fuse.fender.com, except for the other problem I found which is independent of Fuse and still exists.

Tried it and it downloaded perfectly. Go figure??!!?

Pretty long name for a preset
I notice that when you quoted me in your post above, some of my original words were garbled. What's up with that?

I made that one post from my Android (Dolphin) browser and it got wrapped around the axle. I had to go back to my laptop and ungarble my post but I missed that it hosed up the quote too. :P

Works for me again as well. You have the magic touch! Nice work. :D

Good to see this fix come along. It was literally applied (or propagated?) between our two posts. I tested on Linux and Firefox using both Chrome and Firefox so I'm pretty sure it wasn't just me imagining things again.

Yeah, that is a really long preset name. Any preset with parenthesis (and one I found with a comma) would have worked but that example I had actually downloaded before the webserver went whacky.

Since I use the web to grab presets, I think I'll stick with Fuse 2.6 and watch the bug reports for 2.7 for a while.

Magic touch...I wish
I've got a G Dec 3 30 and am still using Fuse v 2.3.0 mostly because it does everything I want and partly because I'm too lazy to upgrade. A case of the 'if it's not broke, don't fix it' maxim.
cheers,
Alex
