Hi, I'm running Windows 7 64-bit and have been able to run Fender Fuse software just fine to make edits on my Mustang 2 Amp. For some reason, however, Fender Fuse just stopped loading and working at all. It gets past the splash screen but gets stuck with the user interface. It shows up all darkened and in the bottom left corner the red light keeps blinking green/red and says connecting but it just stays like that forever.

It never used to do this and just started to do so. I've tried un-installing and re-installing fender fuse - letting it download its own version of microsoft silverlight, updating my PC to make it current with updates and security patches for silverlight. I'm trying to load 2.6.0 firmware (i think thats the latest) and this has become so frustrating now - I don't know what to do.

Any help would be appreciated- Thanks

I did make *exactly* the same expirence like you some months ago. On two different laptops of different type and system. Never got it working again. I confess that I was so angry and frustrated that I didn't try too hard - maybe you ll find my angry post from months ago. I had already spent too much time on other bugs before. Off course I did what you did, deinstalling properly, reinstalling, updating all the third party software ... What is called "Fuse" is not a (one) software, its a conglomeration of Silverlight, Flash, IE and I dont know what else. If any of these components doesnt work properly (any more) with the existing hardware or system-near software (for example after an automatic update) it may lead to the situation we are in.

If you find a solution for your problem it will be the solution for mine, sure. So I will keep an eye on this thread.

Greets and good luck,

Frank

(anyway, I m still enjoying my Mustangs very much, right now with a crasy selfmade preset, Champ model based, with lowered sag and a 57 Deluxe cabinet. At a gain of 3 to 4 it gives a brilliant crunchy dirty sound for single coils ...)

In a certain way I'm "happy" that now more and more people start complaining here. Before It seemed that I was nearly the only one. Paradox is, that the new release is the first running on my machines without real big problems and after a half year without Fuse I am starting to use it again. And now others are having probs...

But it is obvious that Fender decided to go on on the wrong (software) way and that a real change - away from that unreliable, unmaintainable Silverlight/Fuse monster software conglomeration is not in sight.

Yeah it bothers me that the only way to interface with my amp is to use a software that I had to completely install (including Silverlight) and reinstall, and reset up.. really not the type of activities that I would consider as sustainable for the system.. i cannot be required to fully install and reinstall every time there is a glitch

Exactly what happened:

Tried to launch fuse last night, sat on the loading page for several minutes, then reported there was an issue with the program launcher.

Tried uninstalling the program, but it wouldnt let me do that without restarting as it kept returning a message that the program was still runing even though it was not in the application list on task manager.

Finally installed Fuse and reinstalled, but it still wouldn't launch, so then I uninstalled Silverlight and then reinstalled Fuse which aslo reinstalled silverlight....

Heck of a process for an error that just popped up on its very own after almost a year of runnig fine.

Windows Vista

Hi dernst_ca1,

We are sorry to hear that you have experienced such difficulties with the Fender FUSE software. The Loading Please wait... error can be solved by deleting the Silverlight OutOfBrowser folder (please see instructions below). Could you please let us know if the issue has been resolved or if we can assist further.

Deleting the Microsoft Silverlight folder:
To delete the Microsoft Silverlight “Out Of Browser” folder, please enter %localappdata% in your Search bar in the Start menu (or in Run in the StartMenu forWindows XP). Once you enter this command, you should get a window that shows a number of different folders. Please look for the Silverlight folder inside this location. Once you locate the Silverlight folder, please delete it. For Windows Vista & 7 users, you should also delete the “Local Low” folder for Silverlight. To get to this location, please click on “AppData” in the top of the window you are looking at. Then click on the LocalLow folder, and locate the Microsoft folder. Once there, you will want to delete the Silverlight folder.

Thank you for that information.

I will try it should the issue happen again.
I resolved the issue by completely deleting Fuse and Silverlight and reinstalling.
