Just got the Super Champ X2 for Christmas. Went to the website and installed the Fuse V2.6.0 software. It worked fairly well, except for some error messages when adding effect pedals.

However, the next day (after a shutdown), I can't get the amp to connect. The amp is displayed in the Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers, but I still get the No Amp Connected in Fuse.

So I uninstalled V2.6.0 and put in the V2.6.1.35, but have the same issue. I went through the forums and uninstalled the 3 drivers in Device Manager, but it still doesn't work.

I've tried using different USB ports with and without a usb hub. I'm using Win 7 64 bit OS.

Here is the message I get in the log file:
2012-12-28 19:29:31.4650 Fender.Fuse.Program Starting FUSEServer version: 2.6.1.35

2012-12-28 19:30:15.6424 Fender.Fuse.Program Finished requesting shut down. Anything still running in a few seconds shouldn't be.

What can I do to make this work?

First, I would like to vent a few annoyances I have encountered so far
- Primarily the amp and software did not work. That makes for a VERY disappointing Christmas present.
- Registering for the forums is a pain, and somehow I know have two Fender accounts - one for Fender and one for Fender Fuse.
- I did not receive an acceptable response to my forum post. If the response is to "Contact us directly", then why have a forum in the first place?
- There was no response to the email I sent
- There is no answer to the phone outside of banker's hours. To bad I work for a living too...

So here's how the troubleshooting happened:
I couldn't get either Fuse version 2.6.0 or 2.6.1 working. The software would just say "No amplifier connected". I went through many re-installs, checked Silverlight and manually uninstalled the drivers to no effect.

Then, I installed 2.6.1 on my netbook and it worked. So I took a look at the drivers (Start Menu > Devices and Printers, right click on SuperChamp X2 amp > properties). The netbook listed the SuperChamp X2 Amp, USB Composite Device, USB Input Device and HID-compliant device. I compared this to the desktop. The desktop listed a Virtual HID Minidriver collection by Razer instead of the HID-compliant device. This was the cause of the problem!!

Solution:
Open Computer Management > Device Manager, and locate the Razer Device Section. Right click on the Virtual HID Minidriver Collection and choose Uninstall.
A confirmation window will pop up, be sure to check "Delete the driver software for this device"
Unplug the usb cord from the computer
Plug in the usb cord from the computer

Now the HID-compliant device is listed, and Fuse is able to connect to the amp!

Hi tlaramie,

We apologize for the delay in response. Normally when we ask a Forum member to contact us directly, it is because we may need to ask for files from their systems. Since email correspondence is more private than a Forum, we are simply trying to make sure that any information that is shared with us, is not posted on the Forum. We have received a large amount of emails/Forum posts over the holidays and we are doing our best to answer them all, in the order they where received. We are happy to hear that you were successful in getting your Fender Mustang device connected to Fender FUSE and we have posted some additional information below that complements the information your provided. Thanks for your feedback and please let us know if we can assist further.

HID Device Driver uninstall (Windows)
The Fender G-DEC 3/Mustang amps are plug and play devices meaning that the drivers they uses are a standard Windows OS driver. There may be another driver that is causing a conflict and not allowing the HID (plug and play) drivers to function normally. I would suggest uninstalling the drivers for the amp. You will need to have the amplifier connected in order to perform this uninstall. There are (3) drivers that you will need to uninstall within the Device Manager (Start/Control Panel/System and Security/System/Device Manager). The first will be in the HID (Human Interface Device) section of Device Manager. The second will be in the Sound, Video and game Controllers. The third is in Universal Serial Bus Controllers. These drivers will contain the Hardware ID shown below (right click to open Properties. Then click the Details tab. Then select Hardware IDs from the pull-down list under Properties). Once you have done this, you can close the window. Then right click on the same device and select uninstall. Once you have completed the uninstall, please disconnect the USB cable from the amp and then reconnect it. This should force the PC to re-install the drivers for the amp. If this step does not force a re install, we suggest that you contact a computer service center to assist you with sorting out the driver conflict. Please let us know if we can assist further.

Hi SUNBURSTLP100,

We apologize for any frustration you have experienced getting your amp and software set up. We have an upgrade of the Fender FUSE software that offers full support for the new Fender Mustang (V.2) series amplifiers. Please see the link below and download and install the software from there.

Once installed, you should see your new amp connecting and functioning correctly with Fender FUSE. Please let us know if we can assist further. Thanks much.
