I've been trying to upload a pre-set to the community, but have not been able to do so. I read the previous posts looking for an answer, but nothing seems to match my problem.

I'm running Fuse v2.6 on a net book with Win7 Starter Ed. I'm signed in to the Fuse Community. I have no problem creating a pre-set, but when I save it to my computer, the Author field is blank. The pre-set works, I can send it to the amp (Mustang I), add a description and genre to the file, copy it from the amp, but no matter what I do, I can't get Fuse to save the Author tag. No Author tag, no upload.

I tried starting Fuse before turning on the amp, I tried turning on the amp before Fuse. No difference. One thing I did notice, is that choosing the "Web" function in the Media Library shows no pre-sets (like selecting "Amp" when the amp is turned off). Additionally, the "Web" option in the Search function is grayed out, and can't be selected.

The internet connection is strong. I know I'm signed in, because I can select Web Community from the main menu and it shows me signed in and I can download pre-sets. What am I missing??

Hi BigSteve2222,

We will be happy to assist. In order for you to upload Presets using Fender FUSE, you will need to login using the LOGIN button (bottom right corner). Once this is done, the author field will no longer be blank. Although you logged in using the COMMUNITY button, this will not offer any web functionality in FUSE. Please let us know if this helps and if we can assist further. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. Using a netbook, I ran into a classic netbook problem: A 1024x768 display adaptor feeding a 1024x600 LCD display, which causes the last 168 lines to be lost, and unaccessable. Because the log on button falls in that lost area, netbook users can't see it. There is no scroll bar because the adaptor thinks all is well. I didn't know it was there until I read your reply. Hooking into a seperate display allowed me to log on and finally upload my pre-set.

As a suggestion, perhaps add a log on option to the main menu next to the community option. I'm sure a lot of netbook users would appreciate the convenience.

Oh yeah, net books are a nightmare because of this. Just give me a scroll option, please. My netbook is the one that would go to gigs with me. Right now, it is load up the presets at home and forget about gig tweaks.

This software is not new anymore. Most of these problems may never be resolved because of the original design. I want to be very wrong about this. The geek in me is concerned.

Bro, I don't think a scroll bar is the answer. Program sends a 1024x768 output to the display adaptor, and the adaptor sends a 1024x768 image to the display. There's no feed back to the adaptor to tell it that the display only has 600 line of verticle output, so a scroll bar isn't created even if the software allows it.

What I do find interesting, is that even rotating the the adaptor output via the graphics options won't correct the problem. That's a software glitch that will not allow the window to properly re-size.

Strange as news from Bree.

Hi BigSteve2222,

Although Netbooks are not officially supported for use with Fender FUSE, we have had some users report success with using an external monitor if the video output can support the minimum 1027 x 768 resolution. If you happen to have an external monitor on hand, this may be a good way to go. Of course we would not suggest that you buy a monitor to do this. But if you have one you can use, that may work for you. Please let us know if we can assist further.
