For some reason I can't download presets even though I'm logged in to the community. When I click on the download button it goes to the detail page. The download button on the detail page is grayed out. Very frustrating. I did receive a replacement amp for another issue have have updated the firmware and the fuse software to the latest versions. However, I didn't reregister. Could that be the issue?

Figured out at least part of the problem. The fuse web site is not recognizing my login. I requested a new password for my user name but it's saying that my user name and password are incorrect. With my old password it goes direct to the preset webpage but I'm not actually logged in.
I'm stuck

Thanks to Peter at Tech Support I got it fixed. The Fuse website wouldn't login using Internet Explorer 9. I downloaded Firefox and I can now login and download presets. Only problem is that the webpages are loading super slow. Not sure if it's the site or the browser but at least it works.

Hi dniehaus,

We are glad to hear you are able to log into the Fender FUSE Community site now via Firefox. It does sound like you still may be having an issue with IE however if you cannot log in there. If you like, please get back in touch with us and we can assist you a bit further with sorting out any remaining IE issues. Thanks.

Sorry I replied to the wrong person, and I see this thread is old so maybe I should post a new one too.

Hello,

I wrote the msg below first then read your reply, but I used the google chrome browswer because it is already installed on my computer, and I still get grayed out buttons not allowing me to download presets.
It is very odd that at first I was able to download the files using windows internet explorer, then after upgrading firmware to latest version I can not download, not with windows explorer or google chrome, I'm wondering if firefox will even work or it there is some other issues since these posts were some time ago.
I am leaving what I started to post originally below just so the info is all there. I'd sure like to be able to start using some presets!

Also I just downloaded the windows 7 driver, whatever the file name was but its the driver that comes with the G-dec, but for windows seven, the driver I first downloaded was the universal driver and it did not make a difference.
Thanks for your help!

Don

I have the same exact problem as the original poster! I just bought my gdec on Tuesday Nov 30th and at first was able to download some presets ( don't know where they went I think I downloaded them directly from my browser to my computer but can't see them so I;m searching) but I could see all of the presets at first then when I clicked on them, the detail page was ok the first time I downloaded any presets, then I updated to the latest firmware for my G-Dec and now whenever I log into the community they are all grayed out, presets or anything else.”

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the information. You need to be logged in to the Fender FUSE Community site to download content. So, if you are logging in inside the Fender FUSE software application, you can either click the Community button or go to the Media Library and use the Web button there (center row) to access and download content from the community.

Alternatively, you can log in directly to the Fender FUSE Community site (referred to in the discussion here) in a web browser (i.e. I.E., Chrome, Firefox) and download content that way. Updating firmware on your amp should not have any direct affect on logging in to the site or downloading content. We see cases from time to time where a customer can log in inside the Fender FUSE software, but are still not logged in to the community when they go to download content. This is usually an issue with Internet Explorer that can remedied with clearing temp. files and/or a reset of IE. If either of you here feel that you are seeing this issue or are simply continuing to have trouble logging in, please contact us directly for additional support on your specific PC(s). Thanks.

I have logged in using both ways. Always the same thing, the download icon is grayed out. When I try to d/l through the AMP, I just see nothing, have read through the instructions, verified I am doing it right, and nothing shows up for the internet community.

I've had this over a week now and can't download anything. It's frustrating. well to be exact , at first I did download a few files but not through the G-DEC, but by going directly to the community on the net. Not long after that, I updated my firmware, and I'm not sure if it started right at that point or just after. But same results...no downloads for me.

Any advice to cure would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Hi McCloud9,

At this point I would suggest that you may want to take a look at any anti-virus/internet security software that you may have installed. It sounds like you are being blocked form logging into our site properly. Please contact us directly if you continue to experience issues.

Thank you for the tip!

You were right on the money! I changed settings for how Fuse is handled and now all the presets appear in the web window like the instructions said. Thanks for your help!

:D Now please step back and stand by for a big spike in your bandwidth useage while I download the Fender website!!! Cheers! ;-)

I must be doing something wrong. I downloaded one preset, from the presets files using the fuse software, but when I go to the the C:\Users\Mine\Documents\Fender\Presets\Web file folder, the folder appears empty, so for kicks I changed the file type from ".fuse" to all files and a small icon with the numbers 5570 is shown.

I have my amp hooked to my laptop with the usb cable and downloading that way, rather than logging into the community and just finding the preset and downloading them directly. If I do that I think the files are still grayed.

I'm close but not sure what is going on. The fuse program itself seems to crash fairly often and I get error messages almost every single time I open the program and more when I log in.

I looked through all of the fender files that were installed with the fuse software and there is one file folder that refers to the mustang1. I had a Mustang 1 for about two days then returned it, uninstalled the fuse software then reinstalled the new software with the G-DEC drive just to be safe.
I don't know if this has anything to do with the price of presets in china but thought I would mention it, the file directory it is in is below and the file name is: Mustang1_1.10.upd

C:\Users\Don\Documents\Fender\FUSE\Updates

The version of windows I am using is Windows 7 and have a brand new almost top of the line laptop, I'm starting to think compatability issues from all of the errors I am getting, and every single time I open the program and every time I change to a different part of the web within it I get these stupid nortons security message so it probably still has in someway something to do with my Internet Security but I don't think that is the only issue.

Thanks for all the help, for now I'm heading back to see what else I can think of. I know with your help I'll be able to get the kinks out and set up properly, and am very excited about this amp, I just got a taste of running presets with the backing tracks and it was great fun.

McCloud

***UPDATE***
I figured out how to right click on the file and select save (locally or on the amp) and it saves it with the .fuse file type needed.

I had one more question but I think I should probably go back and RTFM for the answer, has to do with saving to the amp you have to save it to numbered slots, so I have a feeling it will save over something already allocated but hopefully thats in the manual. Thanks all.

Hi McCloud9,

So, it looks like you may be having a bit of trouble with the file path for saving Fender FUSE Presets. It is as follows: Documents\Fender\FUSE\Presets. In regard to editing Preset titles, you should not have to do this. If you are running into errors in this area, perhaps you are trying to use files that are not compatible with your amp? For example, if you try to load a GD_Preset Title.fuse file and you own a Fender Mustang, you will not be able to use the file as it is for the Fender G-DEC 3 series amps. Or if you are trying to use a file that is labeled MU_Preset Title.fuse and have a G-DEC 3, you will not be able to use it.

You need to use the Presets that are MU for Mustang and GD for G-DEC 3. If you are going to the Fender FUSE Community site, you can simply select the product button that matches your product. Then you can get those Presets. If you are in Fender FUSE software, the app. and website should automatically know what amp is connected. Please let us know if we can assist further.
