One thing I have found out when installing certain software (like drivers for example) is that you should remove any previous installation first and then install the new version.

Some installers come with a uninstall option, I'm not sure if this is the case of FUSE.
If not you have to manually do it. Do a search with Spotlight for FUSE and SilverLight and delete the files; also check Preference files associated with FUSE (if any) and remove them.

Thank you for you input.

The thing is, I've never gotten a successful install of FUSE.
I did see a few kernel extensions and deleted them but the end result didn't change: the install still failed.

I'll keep working at this.

I am experiencing this issue too and the issue I see is Fender is declared an 'Unidentified Developer" and it is a security issue

Simple solution go to the Apple menu and select System Preferences - Security and unlock it next select "Anywhere". Run the software install. After you install FUSE and update Silver lite you can change the security setting back and lock it again.

Interesting! (btw, it's under the General tab of Security and Privacy) I wonder if this will work for Barry?

I also thought this "shortcut" (circled in red) was interesting as well. I'm going to keep this tip in mind. Thanks, j.!

Hi Guys,

This is unrelated to Barry's issue. Fender FUSE is not in the Apple App Store. So, as of Mac OS X Mountain Lion, Apple has implemented a new security feature called GateKeeper. We have a support document located here: http://www.fender.com/support/articles/ ... ntain-lion. This describes how to install Fender FUSE on Mac OS X Mountain Lion. There is no security risk in installing Fender FUSE. And once you have the app installed, please be sure to reset the Security preferences back to the level you prefer. And let us know if we can assist further.

That would've been such a simple fix. I realize Fuse isn't on the App Store, but I did think j was onto something. Well, I hope Barry gets his situation squared away and that he shares the solution!
