Hi Guys,

Firstly I apologize, as I am sure this question has already been asked, but I am a bit overwhelmed with the Forums and have used the "Search" function, but have not been able to find my exact problem.

I am unable to install Fuse. I have d/l'ed both 2.6.0.25 and 2.6.1.25, installed and uninstalled both several times, I have tried to "Run as administrator" and just normal clicking on the shortcut. I have tried installing it in the default folder (Program Files) and also on my "music" partition of another HDD.

When I try to launch the program, all I get is a short (1 to 2 seconds) of disk activity and then nothing. No pop-ups on the screen, no BSOD, no computer freezes, no nothing.

I have checked the properties of the Fuse folder, and although the d/l was 300 odd Mb, the Fuse folder itself is only about 80 Mb, which just doesn't sound right to me. So that is why I am assuming that I have not installed it properly.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit.

Any help greatly appreciated.

rob

Before contacting your dealer or Fender
(you have a five year warranty on new Fender amps bought from a Fender Dealer),
try connecting the computer and software and G-DEC in different orders.
Try a couple of ways to deal with it on your own
before the hassle of taking the amp to the dealer or shippping to Fender.
Computers = G-DEC HDDs - Software -

================
make sure your software is the latest version
Fender site will have the latest over a disc with the amp.
==============
Shut all down.
Pute the FUSE software in the disc tray.
Plug in the amp/usb to the computer.
Have the amp active
Then turn on the computer.
===============
Also, do the above and add the usb/amp after the computer/disc have booted up.
===============
Check the instructions for variations.
===============
Check your USB ports for 1.0 USB vs 2.0 USB and see if your amp/computer
have the same USB versions. Usually not a problem, as things just run slow.
===============
Update your USB port drivers = very easy to do.
===============
This G-DEC Fender website has good info.
===============
Contact your dealer
===============
Contact Fender.

Problem solved, Fuse working fine now.

Thanks for the tips Toppscore. Made me think outside the box a little.

It occurred to me that I could not see Microsoft Silverlight in the Program File folder. So d/l'ed and installed Sivlerlight from MS Website, re-installed Fuse, hey presto, worked like a charm.

All I got to do now is get my head around the software, should be fun ;)

Thanks for the Silverlight info.
I usually try not to allow some software into my systems,
and Silverlight is one. What is Silverlight for, is it necessary
and what features of Silverlight made the difference?
Toppscore :)

Hi Topps,

Firstly let me say I know very little about computers, that being said, in the 2 days of researching/googling my problem I did recall seeing Silverlight mentioned.

Like you, I don't install anything unless it is absolutely necessary, but when I checked my Program Files folder it wasn't there and as it was a direct d/l from the Microsoft site, and as I had tried absolutely every other suggestion, I thought I would give it a try.

What it does and how it does it? I have no idea. There is a brief explanation on the MS site, but being a bit of a Luddite, it made no sense to me.

The only reason I mentioned it at all, is that it might help someone else having the same problem as me.

cheers
rob

Thanks, Rob. This is a big time help.
Quite often, Microsoft Word or MSOffice or Adobe Suites or Photoshop or Windows-7 etc
usually want your choice to download extra programs or if you want that company to
be contacted or controlled by other software products or gather contact info.
Take care. Toppscore :)
