Hi Normark,

Thanks for your inquiry. Unfortunately, Fender FUSE is not compatible with the Fender Acoustasonic 100/150 series amps. However, you can definitely record via the USB output with it as you mention here. Please let us know if we can assist further.

Thanks for your info :-)

The 150 acoustasonic is fine for recording from the USB out, but I have encountered a change since I upgrated to a new PC.

The old one I had used Windows XP, and on that machine I could record into several sound editing programs without any manual changes to drivers etc.

On the new PC, witch runs Windows 7 I had to install ASIO drivers for the USB input, and when I want to record from the amp, I have to change the input sound driver to ASIO. When I then afterwards want to hear musicfiles ( mp3 etc. I have to manually switch back to the soundcards normal driver.

On the old ( Windows XP ) system I could record from the amp through a MME type driver, so I didn't have to switch between drivers for recording and for listening to music files.

Will there be an updated driver for the Acoustasonic USB out, so it can use common MME drivers?

Hi Normark,

I will have to do a bit of testing here with MME & Win XP vs. Win 7. With that said, I would suggest that you will see considerably improved quality and latency with using ASIO. Please check out the ASIO driver a bit further and let us know how that goes. Thanks.

Well, I use the ASIO driver now, and it works fine.

It´s a question of having your recording software to "see" the amp, and get the right setup of your soundcard to allow the ASIO driver to get an input.

When you change an input device in the analog input ( speakers, headphones etc. ) you can have truble, so when you have a setup that works the trick is to stay with that.

Hi Normark,

I'm glad that everything is working well now. And I understand what you are saying in regard to the ASIO setup. While it is the standard professional audio driver choice for the Windows platform, it can be a bit confusing to get set up and make changes to. The main thing to keep in mind is that items in the ASIO Settings window represent actual inputs and outputs on your connected hardware. So, when you make a change or add new gear, etc., you will need to associate the device with its 'device' in ASIO Settings.

Please let us know if we can assist further.

Thanks, maybe you can help me with an other question.

I would like to use the
XLR line-out to connect the amp to a power-amp.

I have tryed to use and XLR stereo cable that split to two mono jacks,
to connect it to the power-amp, but I get no signal out.

I thougt the XLR-lineout was stereo, but as mentioned abowe it don´t
seem to work.

Will it work with a standard XLR mono microphone cable?

Thanks in adwance :)

Hi Normark,

You should be getting signal from the amp if you have an XLR cable connected and you are hearing signal from the speaker. I would suggest that you double check the input level for the instrument and or mic that you have connected. Also, make sure that the output level next to the XLR jack itself is turned up and be sure that the amp is not muted. Please let us know if you are still having troubles and we can go from there. Thanks.

Thanks

I think that the problem may be that the signar from the XLR output
requires a pre-amp before it gets into the power amp.

I don´t know how much signal are required to get the power amp alive.

I can get sound from it from the output from my PC, but not from the
Acoutasonic 150, maybe the output from the XLR should go through a mixer
before it goes into the power amp.

( Does it mather if the XLR are mono or stereo? I have a stereo XLR with splits into two mono-jacks )

Hi Normark,

Thanks for the additional information. Basically, if the Level knobs are turned up on the channels and on the XLR output and you are using a standard XLR (mic) cable, you should hear a line level signal. I cannot speak to the specific power amp that you are connecting to. It should have a normal line level input. But one way to double check would be to connect the XLR output to a different line level input to confirm whether or not the output on the amp is working correctly.

Keep in mind that the Mute switch on the right side of the front panel needs to be off. And regarding the USB output, that is a different signal path and therefore does not directly relate to the XLR output. So, check this out and let us know what you find. If it looks like there is a defect in the amp, we can look into that as well.
