Wow - has it been another year since my last post and I checked for some kind of update. Time flies when waiting on an update. In an era where software updates are measured in months or days - it is nice to see a classic guitar company keeping it classic, with time frames in years.

Actually, Fender consolidated this thread with a couple of others that had previously started more than a year before that. They made it "official" in 2012. For those of you keeping score at home, check off the box that says "Current wait time: 4.5 years"

Just for kicks, I dug up the thread that was running before Fender took it over. Here's a screen grab showing part of the first post of the community consolidation thread; this was in April 2011. (Doesn't really matter, but hey, what the heck...)

So I was told over a year ago Fender is still supporting Fender Fuse. From this other post my only conclusion is to say that it has been 4 years and 5 months and not one of the items on that list or any list on this thread has been added. Come on Fender. If you are not abandoning Fender Fuse, what do you call this? Fender has been BS'ing us for so long it is obvious that NOTHING is ever going to be added to Fender Fuse. I still really like my Mustang III. It sounds great. But if this is the support we are going to get from Fender, what is the point of even asking for changes? "We have not abandoned Fender Fuse" is all we get. What have they done? 1 bug fix is all I'm aware of. I might be wrong. But I do know that not 1 request has been added to Fender Fuse. That is really messed up. Thanks for a great amp that could be so much better if you would only listen to the people who purchase products from you. Fender could come out with a new amp that sounded just like the Fractal Audio Systems - Axe-Fx II for $300.00 and I wouldn't buy it. I don't trust Fender anymore. I know that what they say isn't true. This forum says it all. I got what I paid for, no question about that. I just was hoping that Fender took care of their customers is a professional manner. I was wrong.

This is a description of what Fender Fuse is, taken from the Fender Fuse site:

"It's software. And it's amazing. With it, you can custom hot-rod your Fender® FUSE™-compatible amp and connect with a worldwide community of musicians."

As far as I can tell, Fuse lives up to this description. If it does not, can someone please point out where it is failing? I understand there is a wish list going ... that's great. Most companies don't even ask what you think. But take it for what it is. You are giving customer feedback. You are expressing opinions. But you are not steering the ship.

Windows 10 is familiar and easy to use, with lots of similarities to Windows 7 including the Start menu.
Ok Microsoft - you can stop now, heck you could have stopped with Win 3.1

How you use the Web is unique. Firefox lets you change it to match.
Ok Mozilla - you can stop now. You are way past version 2.x

Of course you know I could keep doing this for days... if not years. Which in fact brings us back to that going on a 5 year update...

I have posted how much I like the Mustang series and even the Fuse software. Yes there is a long list of enhancement requests. Yet this software remains unchanged since release. In the 60's that was not totally uncommon but in 2015... it is a bit strange.

I made the request if they didn't want to continue development, at least opensource an API kit. I would jump on that and so would a lot of other developers.

It is their product and they can do what they want with it. And I also appreciate them leaving this forum open and asking for the feedback - but if you want feedback, then you are going to get feedback.

When I purchased two Mustang Amps, it never occurred to me the software would not get a refresh. Especially since it was "new". I assume like all things software, a company might want to bump it up a notch or two after the initial development. I don't think anyone would even mind paying a reasonable fee for an upgraded package.

And OK if you don't, how about having some pity on those that would like drag and drop or being able to have bundles for live performances. Opensource an API kit!

IMO, this thread has become less about people giving feedback and more about people whining that they didn't see this or that implemented. Can I just suggest that if you want to discuss the topic of implementation and timeline, you at least start a thread where that discussion would be relevant? Because in this thread it is not.

Here's the OP again folks:

Nonetheless, we very much appreciate and value all ideas presented. We look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your time.

I hear where you are coming from and I would fully support that, in say the first year, then maybe in the second year...and maybe in the third year... and maybe even in the fourth year (well not really)... However going on five years now, some of the people participating in the conversation might feel a bit neglected.

Software companies that know they are limited on resources and can not handle the volume that comes with such feedback usually just have a form called an "enhancement request". You submit it and they ignore you in private.

Going on 5 years, unprecedented in 2015. And I get it - as I said before, they own the software, they can elect to burn it if they want. I would just hope a company like Fender, that has given us so much over the years, would elect to open the code if they are not going to develop it further.

And while I appreciate you wanting this to be purely about feedback on Fuse; going on 5 years - you might as well post your thoughts on idontcare.com. We have been waiting this long just to get a slightly better user interface. I'm not sure the point of posting feedback. I think everyone pretty much agrees they like the Amps, and price and even the basic fuse software. There is a nicely compiled list of feedback over the years. Adding anything else will do what?

Laugh - I'm sure we could come up with some grips about them too. We have honed our skills on this thread.

It's fairly obvious that "All ideas will be considered and reviewed. Please keep in mind that it will not be possible to implement all ideas submitted here into Fender FUSE." has a misspelling.
Where it says "all", it should read "any".

What's the point of submitting ideas if they're never going anywhere? EVER? No matter whose idea, or what it is? Years have passed.

The only usefulness of this thread at this point is to vent.

Exactly arth1. Almost 5 years and nothing. I called Fender and talked to Alan Willey. I posted our conversation. He basically said that they are not abandoning Fender Fuse. I'm sorry, but Fender HAS abandoned Fender Fuse.

strings10927, you have the right to post your opinion as we all do. So don't knock us for woundering why they are asking for our feedback if they are not going to do anything. All they needed to say was "we are not going to upgrade Fender Fuse" and that would of been the end of it. But Fender keeps pulling us along with the hope of enhancements. In any world, this is just wrong. Stop attacking others and just worry about yourself my friend. Let Fender defend themselves. They are big boys and I'm sure they can handle this situation. Besides, they brought all of this on themselves. Fender created this section of the forums and asked us for our feedback. If you look back in this forum, you will see that Fender has compiled the list and sent it up to Fender management. Fender management, up to now, has decided to do nothing with Fender Fuse. Yeah, that is their right. But I just wish they would quit stringing us along with the hope they will improve Fender Fuse when they actually have no intention of doing anything. That is my point, and I want Fender to hear my opinion. This situation is unforgivable.

Give them some credit, they've kept this thread open for around 5 years. Not only is that some big kahuna's - it shows great hubris.

5 years today is a product life cycle. My guess, we will see a new line with new software. They will discontinue the Mustang line (probably because it was a lot of amp for the price) - just my guess.

Be nice. Their statement was not a lie per se. It was just a defeat device...
