MusicLaw,

My Mustang III version is 2.1. I purchased it about a year ago. It has been about 2 months since I've had my amp and Fuse on at the same time. Thanks for the reply :)
Browse to Fender's Mustang Amp Product Support area and Download Mustang v2 Firmware version 2.2. This is the current version and is what came installed in my Mustang III (v2) and Mustang IV (v2) Amps (purchased Dec 2014 and Jan 2015, respectively).

Dear Larrylenz,

Thanks for your inquiry. Occasionally a firmware update is released that is not part of the Fender® FUSE™ bundled update. That's the update you encountered. The following steps are the instructions for performing a manual install of the firmware for the latest version of 2.2.

Please check and make sure you are at the current release. If you are not at 2.2

Download the latest firmware below for your appropriate Mustang™ product. On most new Mac and Windows PC’s it will be downloaded to the download’s folder. You must be aware of where the file is downloaded so that you can access it when updating the firmware manually in Fender® FUSE™.
Once the file is downloaded if you are on a Windows machine you need to “unzip” or extract the file.
To extract files or folders from a compressed folder
1. Locate the compressed folder that you want to extract files or folders from.
2. To extract a single file or folder, double-click the compressed folder to open it. Then, drag the file or folder from the compressed folder to a new location.
Once you have the files extracted and you know the exact location of the files you can connect your Mustang amp to your computer and power up the amplifier in update mode.
To update your amp:
1. Power off the amp.
2. Connect the amp to your computer and open Fender® FUSE™
3. While holding the data wheel power the amplifier back on.
4. The “Update Firmware Window” will appear on the screen.
5. When the update window in fuse comes up click “Select Downloaded Update”.
6. Find the location of the (.upd) file and open it.
7. The Updating Firmware screen will come up during the update process.
8. Once complete the “Firmware Update Complete” window will come up.
9. Turn the amplifier off and then back on.
Check the firmware by pressing the UTL button until you get to the “About this Amp” screen which shows you the current version of the firmware.

Links are below for their appropriate Amp. Please let us know if we can assist you further.

There does not yet appear to be any new Release Notes posted regarding a new Mustang Firmware update release. Same goes for Fender FUSE. Perhaps something will be posted soon.

You are a funny man.
The update is dated Feb 10 2014, and that's likely all the information you're likely to get. Fender doesn't seem to believe in release notes, change logs and other industry standard documentation.

Fender Fuse and Windows 10 seems not to be working so well yet.
Any plans for a updated release of fuse?
I am using a Fender Bronco 40 with fuse.
It was working very well on Windows 8.1.

BTW, Fender Bronco 40 is a great bass amp!

I would like to be able to re-arrange presets by parameter(amps), and when the drag and drop is accomplished, it would make space automatically and move the existing preset down.
I would like to be able to turn off the amp, and only use the GDEC in a "stomp" box mode, so I could use the GDEC as a clean monitor.
I could then use my Tonelab LE in the GDEC without coloring the sound.

The current problem I have with fuse and Windows 10 is that it does not start.
Fender Fuse, Loading please wait ... is the only thing that is happening.

It was working well with Windows 8.1.

I've used it this afternoon without any problem at all, and I use a quite old netbook (Acer Aspire 751h).
Just try to launch Fender Fuse as an administrator (right click on the icon)

Running anything that connects to the internet as an administrator is a very bad practice.

Yes, I know (I'm IT pro), but some software needs so (if the software needs to modify something in system files or so for example)

FWIW, the entire purpose of Fuse is to basically flip 'switches' in your amp. If the "switch" for reverb is set to 'off', you can change it to 'on' for example. Fuse can also play backing tracks. But that's about it, right? I can't think of any reason it would need to modify system files in order to get that job done. :?:

Here are the current requirements for Fender FUSE ... Windows 10 is not listed, so your experience with it may be "interesting":

Minimum System Requirements:
Pentium 4 1.4 GHz Processor, 512 MB of RAM
Windows Vista SP2 / Windows 7 / Windows 8**
Internet Explorer 8.0 or later
(10.0 or later on Windows 8)
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1* or later
Microsoft Silverlight 4.0* or later
Minimum Video Resolution of 1024x768

*Included with Fender® FUSE™ installer

Regrettably, a number of programs must be run as administrator to function properly in Win 10 including Fuse. My experience is if the program can save a file to the web, such as Fuse or Lightroom, it must be run as admin. Microsoft reports that they are working on this.

Good news, Fuse started to work again after the patch bundle that
Microsoft released on the 19th of August!
Everything is back to normal!! :-)

I have had my Fender Bronco 40 for the past 2 years.
It is a great combo!
Great sound and gives a lot of fun with Fuse!
