Strataholic,

Read back on this forum. Fender has been saying that for years now and done nothing. Check it out for yourself. They are Never going to update Fuse I'm afraid. Sorry to be the one who told you, but that's the truth.

No problem Larry!! I'm just the worlds biggest optimist!!

Obviously, there is a "next move" for Fender... Do you really think they would put that much into the Mustang/FUSE line and then abandon it? What's their next move?

Fender's conduct as a reflection of their presumed policy not to comment regarding unannounced nor unreleased products is not unlike that of many organizations.

Nothing prevents Fender from releasing an updated FUSE version (or successor software product) that could still fully service existing Mustang Amp models as well as any new Amps.

The very fact that Fender TSL is responding is a far better indication than silence!

Fender did issue a v2 firmware update last year so they were still working on the amps then.

In today's software market environment, eager and optimistic users have grown accustomed to the rapid revision cycles for mobile and other software applications. I too would love to see Fender issue an improved FUSE version (perhaps along with a feature enhanced firmware version).

I am not convinced that Fender has rendered FUSE nor the Mustang line "Dead Sticks". Time will tell. In the meanwhile, the Amps I have work and sound great! They are undeniable outstanding values!

Summer NAMM (July 9-11, Nashville) is just a few weeks away. Should Fender have any meaningful announcements then, great! Otherwise, the Amps continue to work just fine. Fender FUSE could be much better. Notwithstanding its current constraints it does provide added functionality and an UI.

Guys, this specific forum is about Fender FUSE Software. Not about the Mustang amp itself. All I'm saying is that if you read this entire forum you will see that Fender TSL's have been saying they have NOT abandon Fender Fuse Software. However, nothing has really been done for years. If someone tells me they are working on the software and nothing happens for YEARS, then all I can think is nothing is going to be done.

I am not talking about the Mustang amp. I have the Mustang III V.2 and I really love this amp. But in my situation, the Fuse software made if very difficult for me to make live sets easily. So, as I said in my other post, I purchased an EVH 5150 III 50w 2-12 tube amp and a Boss GT-100. With the software that came with the GT-100, I can create set fast and easy with their software. (which they update on a regular basis). While the Mustang III has a really great sound, the EVH 5150 III with the Boss GT-100 has a much better sound. Yeah, I paid $2,000 for the pair, but my livelihood depends on being a working musician. I don't have the time to screw around with sub par software like Fuse.

If Fuse would allow me the ability to create sets quickly, I would be carrying the lite Mustang. My EVH 5150 III is 84 lbs. Not so easy to move around. If I do large shows, I need the EVH. But for normal clubs I could of used the Mustang.

My point is that the Fuse software (which this specific forum is about) is not suitable for a working musician. To me it doesn't seem that hard to add a few upgrades from time to time. But so far, all we have seen is just a few BUG fixes. I've called and talked to a TSL. (Alan) who told me the same thing as all the other TSL's have said. Fool me once, shame on you. Full me twice, shame on me. Well I've been fooled by Fender and their TSL's so many times about Fuse that I can't count them all.

I am just stating my opinion. I really don't care if any of you like it or not. I just hate to see you all get fooled by the line of BS that Fender is giving us. Even if they came out with a Brand NEW version of FUSE TODAY, it would be too late for many of us.

The amp doesn't have many problems, but the Fuse software has many, many problems. That is what this specific forum section is about. Mustang is a great amp at a fantastic price. But Fender promised us FUSE. A software package that would work and do what we wanted. They fell short on FUSE. And knowing this, Fender has done NOTHING to remedy this situation.

Fender did stop making the Fender Mustang Floor. Which is basically the guts of our Mustang amps in a floor model. Considering that, what do you think???

We all feel your frustration!

Obviously, FUSE could be far superior, much easier to use, and support tablets. For the time being, it is what it is.

As I have desktop PCs that are not positioned near my amps (and I use Android Tablets) I find FUSE's utility constrained (tethered PC/Mac use), cumbersome (to move the amps or PCs), and deficient (no support for tablets). Therefore, I do my Presets directly via the amps' LCD panels and do not have the ability in this method to move the FX units' Pre/Post positions in signal chain. Reorienting Presets to desired Memory slots is a one at a time chore regardless if done on the amp itself or via FUSE. For the needs of a working musician, the agility to easily and rapidly reorient saved Presets is indeed time consuming.

As for the sonic attributes of your 2x12 eVh amp compared to a 1x12 Mustang III v2, this is inherently invalid. Everyone knows that a 1x12 is incapable of producing the same sound field as a 2x12. A more appropriate comparison would your eVh 2x12 vs. a Mustang IV v2. As I own both a MIII 1x12 and MIV 2x12 (both v2) I can assure you they are distinctly different sounding creatures - even while running identical Presets and fed the same instrument signal!

The Mustangs and FUSE are in many ways inextricably intertwined. Yes, the Forum is named for FUSE. The Thread invites Feedback. Discussing FUSE without the amps is like discussing tires without the sports car they'll be installed on. It is simply not complete to prohibit amp factors. Your post does contain a content regarding your amps.

Just because Fender has not released a FUSE update for a long time does not equate to nothing will ever happen. Fender's long duration without a FUSE update release is certainly frustrating for those with expectations of what the software could be and whom eagerly hunger for improved usability.

At least you've got your eVh w/ Boss rig good to go! When (and if) FUSE is updated perhaps it will breathe new and invigorating life into how we each use FUSE w/ the Mustang products.

As for the demise of the original Mustang Floor model, it would be very cool to see a new version.... My understanding was that the Mustang Floor was more akin to the v1. MV & MIV electronic decks.

In the case that the following has not already been suggested....

If the Util Menu Memory can accommodate it, provide a QA4 and QA5. Either directly after QA1~3 in the Util Menu, or, via the 2btn fsw configuration menu.

When both a 4 Btn Fsw and a 2 Btn Fsw are connected (with the 4btn Fsw in "Normal" set to mode 1 or "Locked" to mode 1), the 2btn fsw has the potential to provide direct QA to an additional Two QAs (i.e QA4 & QA5). Currently, there is no way to accomplish this! The 2btn fsw, when configured for QA mode, uses the identical QA1 and QA2 from the Util Menu QA assignments that are otherwise already accessible via the 4btn fsw.

The problem is that "for the time being" has been since launch, years ago. There have been no functional changes, only bug fixes, and even those seem to have dried up. C'mon, a single developer given half an hour a day would have been able to produce something by now!

I'm pretty sure that Fender will, one day, come out with something. But I also believe that the something will require new hardware purchases, and will be another consumerist product, outdated by the time it hits the street, and obsolete by the time the warranty expires.

But Ok, you win, you are right. It must be broken if it doesn't work like you want it to.

Then it must be fully functional, and working perfectly instead, just because it´s working for you Image

Although I have some valid points, you don´t have to agree with what I say, that´s fine.
Showing "Work-In-Progress-Fuse-TM" and its finest features and usability to some software developers in a launchbreak lately made everybody giggle hard

I turned on my Mustang III amp and opened up Fuse. To my shock, Fuse told me an update was available. It appeared to be for both Fuse and the amp. I clicked continue. It told me to put my amp into update mode, and I did. Then it updated my amp but not Fuse.

Does anyone know that this update did?

Is your MIII (v2) a recent model?
What firmware version (build number) does your MIII (v2) amp now show when you display the About menu? Press the Util button 10x to display the About menu.

There does not yet appear to be any new Release Notes posted regarding a new Mustang Firmware update release. Same goes for Fender FUSE. Perhaps something will be posted soon.
Interested to know what firmware is now installed in your amp?

MusicLaw,

My Mustang III version is 2.1. I purchased it about a year ago. It has been about 2 months since I've had my amp and Fuse on at the same time. Thanks for the reply :)

P.S.: I found that ver 2.2 was available, so I updated to that version now.
