It has been 4 months since I talked with Alan on the phone about the Fender Fuse Software update. So far we have received nothing. In 2 month I will be driving to Phoenix Arizona and talk Alan and anyone else I can speak with at the Fender main office. Fender has made us wait long enough for an update to the Fuse software.

Anyone that wants to meet me there and talk to Fender as a group of Fender Mustang owners is more than welcome. I will be there on Monday, May 18th, 2015, first thing in the morning. I want to talk with Alan and the CEO of Fender about their lack of support for the Mustang amplifier. Alan's post just before Christmas in 2014 said that Fender is still supporting the Fender Fuse software. Well, we haven't seen anything.....Nothing.... Nada!!!!!!

Join me if you can, otherwise I will take Fender on myself. I will also be going to my local guitar stores and trying to muster up more support for our cause. If Guitar Center, Sam Ash, American Musical supply, Zzounds, etc; can put some pressure on Fender, than maybe we can get something done. If we don't try, Fender is never going to give us Anything.

I'm not sure why Fender has abandoned us, but they have. Once the buzz gets out that Fender doesn't stand behind their products and fix bugs and give us needed updates, then people will shy away from Fender. There are many other amplifier companies out there that have great products. Being loyal to Fender was the American way for many years. But when a company ignores its customers, then it is time to move on to another Company that will support their products. Boss and Line 6 support their customers. What is wrong with Fender?

This will be my last attempt to give Fender the benefit of the doubt. If I do not get exact dates of Fuse fixes/updates, and if they do not happen on the dates they say, then I will be abandoning Fender for good. I've had enough.

If we stand together we are strong. So let’s unite in a cause that will benefit all us Fender Mustang Amp owners.

Scottsdale, AZ is a subburb of Phoenix, AZ. Just like Mesa, AZ, Tempe, AZ, Glendale, AZ, etc;.

To my knowledge, you can not fly directly into Scottsdale, so Phoenix would be the destination.

What was the point of your post anyway?

Dear LarryLenz,

Thank you for your forum post. You’re obviously very passionate about our products, which we certainly love to see! At Fender® we appreciate and embrace feature requests as they help us to provide feature-rich products that will delight our customers.

Do you have any specific issues outside of feature requests that are affecting the current functionality of Fender FUSE? If so, can you please provide that information to us and we will attempt to address them.

We ask for your patience in this process. In the meantime, rest assured that Fender® FUSE™ has not been “abandoned”.

I hope this helps and please let us know if we can assist you further.

Regards,

I do: The passport-mini amp has a faulty firmware which doesn´t allow to save the stompbox/ compressor pedals into tha amps fx-preset section.
May I ask for an update on that very specific issue?

That’s not “faulty” that’s how the amp works. The Mustang I/II work the same way but we have a separate knob for Modulation FX and Delay/Reverb. The mini just has an FX knob as illustrated in the manual, you can choose from the modulation, delay, and reverb FX to add to your preset on the fly. I have programmed my FX Knobs with what I use most and yes I do wish that would include Stomps but to say it is "Faulty" is incorrect. This is why I have a couple of OD pedals to compliment my Mustang experience. If I do a “Save FX” to any of the knobs, the stomps get dropped. Why? Because those slots are only for modulation and time based FX.

Dear Fender TSL,

I have posted what needs to be fixed. If you would just add #1, many of us would be happy for now. But the last time any update was done on Fender Fuse was January 31, 2014. That is over a year. If Fender can't say when we can expect an update, then what is the point of posting anything? I just want to talk with the powers at Fender Fact-to-Face and have them tell me the truth. That's all.

If I had to choose an order of the items you posted that were possible changes/upgrades, it would look like this:

1• Add ‘drag and drop’ arrange/re-order of Presets in FUSE Media Library (Also be able to access backups and change their order as well with "drag & drop".)
2• Simplify account login between Fender® FUSE™ and the Fender FUSE Community
(It took me 2 weeks of calling Fender 2 times to finally be able to log into Fuse Forums)
3• Add ability to choose specific folder for backup and allow backup file name to match the chosen name
4• Offer the ability to sort Presets by amp model
5• Add ability for Fender FUSE to output Preset information document/PDF
6• Offer more information about models, effects and cabs
7• Offer additional video tutorials

I would add the following:

8• Add more effects pedals

The rest would be cool, but wouldn't really help me.

Hello captainc and thanks four your reply.
captainc wrote:

If that is the case:
a) it should be mentioned in the user manual
b) it could have been answered by the tech-support in the first place

quote from the manual you linked above:
Quote:
You can program the default effects for each
preset as well as see the names and details of each effect using Fender®
FUSE™ software [...] Passport® mini effects can be viewed and fully customized using
Fender® FUSE™ software
installed on your Mac or Windows
computer.

there is no restriction to mod / time effects mentioned anywhere, right?

the german translation in the manual is also clear about this:
Quote:

I´d appreciate a clarification from Fender, positive or negative, if captainc is right.

The fact that non mod / time effects can be stored along with presets leads to the conclusion that it´s rather a plain software fault!
this is just a programmable DSP after all, you know?
So you compensate that software flaw with some more hardware equipment, glad that works for you, but completely misses the point of a portable (busking) device like the pp-mini.

Well I suppose I should have been more clear on that one. I really use those pedals to get around the two preset footswitch limitation. Your point on portability is a good one and it leads to one of my requests which would be for the amp to have an alt function to turn off and on a stomp. Say hold Down the exit button and tap the tap button. The same way the "mid knob" function works. But that is an amp thing and not fuse and I'd still have only two presets on the footswitch so can't say I'd ditch my pedals. Only have a few so still pretty portable if I want.

Cheers

Dear SenorUke,

Thanks for your inquiry. At your earliest convenience could you please give us a call here in the TSL and review you Passport Mini concerns? I want to make sure I clearly understand them as I verify for you.

Thanks,

Hello Alan,

I am still waiting for a response. Is anyone at Fender looking into this? Alan? Daniel?
