Yea... I keep toying with the idea of writing one. Someone else suggested Fender release an SDK, and seriously if they are just going to do minor bug fixes - which appears to be the path they have chosen - then release some code so others can move it forward. I really like a lot about the software - but with no major release in a couple of years, it seems Fender is really not going to support the software - other than bug fixes (which is good they are at least doing that). I'm still confused that a better way to manage, change and save presets was not in the initial release. Building a preset is wonderful, but that is where it stops cold.

Hi ferrellrooster,

Your feedback has been noted. Please let us know if you have any other ideas to add. Despite some concern to the contrary, we are listening. Thanks very kindly.

Best Regards,

Alan

I don't think the concern is whether you're listening, but whether Fender does more than listen.

If you could answer whether Fender has any plans for a new FUSE release with feature changes, and not just bugfixes, it would likely alleviate many concerns. Not whether you may consider it, because you may consider anything, but whether there is actual non-bugfix work underway.

i.e. is FUSE still being developed for features, or is it currently on sustain support?

I have to politely agree with this point. There has not been a major release since the launch of the line. There has been a standard line of "we do not disclose our current work and future plans...". OK, fair enough - I think that is an answer (no). I don't see how it would hurt to have an affirming statement from Fender about their commitment to the Fender Fuse line of Amplifiers and commitment to future development. The lack of feedback concerning this line is stark.

Fender is also keeping their beta tester in the dark, I haven't had any tests or news from Fender in two years!
I was a beta tester, I don't know anymore?

currently it feels like testing a beta... so i think Fuse developed into kind of a public beta

Dear Fender® FUSE™ Users,

We definitely hear where you are coming from here. The role of the Fender Technology Support Lab is to offer live phone-based and electronic support for Fender FUSE and Fender FUSE-connected products. While we are able to discuss and suggest feature requests with related Fender personnel, the Technology Support Lab does not make decisions regarding update schedules, feature implementation or related product development.

Again, we are happy to pass along information, including this discussion. I apologize that we cannot offer any more detail regarding Fender FUSE. But at such time that the software is updated, we will announce it and include release notes on the Fender FUSE Forum. Thanks kindly.

Best Regards,

Alan

FTSL - I appreciate you posting comment. From our perspective, it is really the same thing we have been hearing, albeit this time with a touch more vibrato.

I still believe in the product, still think there is a lot of value delivered, and I'm positive FTSL does not stand for F-This Software Losers. I also know you are stuck in the middle between a support role and what the company proper is providing as feedback. So I'm sure all here do not direct the negative comments at FTSL. Yet, we are hearing the same tune over and over, it has really gone to the point of being funny. I'd be a lot more upset if I was any good with a guitar!

I rest my case. I believe the only sensible assumption to make after this post from Fender TSL is that Fender FUSE was developed with a single cycle release model, and went directly into sustaining support upon release.

Do you have any evidence or even indications that it is not so?

All it takes is a single new feature to either have appeared or been confirmed under development.
If not, after all this time, and Fender won't say anything, isn't it a logical conclusion that it is not being developed, and is on sustaining support only?

Care for a friendly wager? Within the next two years:
If Fender has a FUSE feature release, I'll give you my Mustang at the price of the postage.
If they don't, you send me something I can actually use, like a guitar pick.

arth1, have you ever heard the saying, ""absence of evidence is not evidence of absence"? :|

or what about: the absence of active development is evidence?

Not sure if this is relevant here, nevertheless......I have a mustang IIIv2 and was looking for a better solution for a footpedal. At the moment I am working on a footswitch to provide more functionality (simple with GUI), similar to Fuse and Plug (linux) via USB.

So far, with a 1(func)+10 button switch:
1-preset (up/down)
2-preset select (00-99)
3 stomp on/off

looking at sliders for controlling levels..anything in fuse is possible! i can't wait to share when done...hopefully more soon, time permitting...

cheers,

mark
(let me know if you are interested)
