If there were any one thing that could potentially open up the Mustang and Fuse market it would be a Software Developer's Kit.

I second this.... I would love to see an SDK or at least some published protocol specs.

The weakest aspect of the Fender Mustang line is FUSE. Part of this is the horrid environment it runs in. Silverlight is a terrible choice. Something like this needs to be responsive and not be a burden when running alongside various DAW packages.

FUSE on MacOS X is a joke. It eats a lot of CPU time and isn't the most responsive thing in the world.

The open-source PLUG app by piorekf is coming along but also missing some key features that would be easier to implement with more documentation available. It's also FAR faster and more efficient than Fender Fuse.

I *LOVE* my Mustang V amp, but the software for managing it is terrible. A native app would be much more sensible and integrate better, especially on non-MS platforms. I understand why Silverlight was chosen but it wasn't a good idea. Something for simply configuring an amp shouldn't be a unreliable bloated monster of an application.

No one is going to steal Fender's IP with published protocol specs. And believe it or not, there are musicians out there that use computers with real operating systems. And a lot of these guys even know a programming language or two.

Community-developed software being available can only help the cause and increase the amplifier's popularity. Just don't offer to support unofficial packages.

Aside from FUSE issues.... I'm with a few folks here... an acoustic simulator would be a cool addition. I'd use it.

An acoustic sim would be an AWESOME addition. The two biggest mistakes I've heard in other manufacturer's acoustic sims:
(1) High-end hissy fizz
(2) Output volume too low to be used live.

Hello, I own a Mustang 3, and just bought a Mustang mini. I love these amps! But I think they would be even better if I could interface with my iPhone or iPad. I know you have apps in itunes, why not let them work with the Mustang?

Thanks for a great product!

Dave

I just got a Mustang amp. I really like it.
To echo ddiotalevi, I think it would be super cool if you could connect to an ipad/iphone/ipod touch.

I used to play Classical, but getting into playing Electric after almost 20 years of not playing. I've owned my Mustang I v2 for a few weeks and it's my only amp. Quite happy with it so far, although being new to electric guitars and their toys, I'm still trying to figure out what all those settings really do for me. I specifically bought the amp because of Fuse and the built in effects as a way to get my feet wet without having to buy a gazillion pedals and other expensive equipment.

I'm sure this has been mentioned already (I didn't read all 14 pages)

- it's very hard to manipulate the knobs on the amps using a touchpad on a laptop (up and down motion on the pad creates somewhat unpredictable motion of the dial), I'd love some alternate way to turn the knobs. I don't have room next to the laptop for areal mouse+mousepad (it's on a stand, see next suggestion)

- I really want to control my amp from my Android tablet (Nexus 7). It has USB OTG, so it should be possible, but I read the software is tied to Silverlight? I did notice someone made a linux "replacement" for the software, which I haven;t tried, so Silverlight can probably be eliminated.

- Possibly a limitation of the amp, not the fuse software, but I would really like to see the ability to have multiple stompboxes in the effect chain, fuzz+compression for example.

- The UI to switch between presets on the computer and the amp, or to send the preset to the amp could really be simplified, I'd like to be able to do it all from a single screen, right now they take "too many clicks"

- some way of hearing samples of the presets before downloading them would be nice, but I understand that your guitar and its volume/tones settings are going to be a factor in the end result.

 Relative newbie here. (Not to music. Just the full time pursuit of it. Retired 35 year RN and running back into the waiting arms of my first love.) So if I'm off base on any of this, please be kind.

First off. LOVE this amp and all it provides. I use it as a practice amp in my house, but would love to put it somewhere where I could open it up a little. I don't understand many of it's features and find the online tutorials simply informative rather than instructive. Rather than step by step instructions on how to save amp presets etc., there is such info as "this button does this" kind of stuff. For example: Setting up the amp to interact with my laptop, I was able to solve all problems via the step by step instructions online. It's very likely that I may have missed the proper channels for a fuller understanding and would love to be directed otherwise.

It would be nice to be able to hook my Mustang up to my other practice amp for my bass to develop a little more bottom end. I love everything about the Mustang except for it's apparent lack of bottom end and it's difficulty of manipulating for those of us not tech'd up. I understand there are limitations to the included system, which is what prompted the idea of boosting it w/ my Peavy Minx (my Bass guitar practice amp). Isn't that something professional players do? Plug one amp into another?

Must echo papas's suggestion above. Being able to preview presets would be nice. perhaps through the computer speakers instead of routed through the amp. ?

It would be really great if you could delete presets on the website through your account rather than in the app. I can never get it to work through the app. Presets delete but then reappear.

How about I get past the "No Amp Connected" icon of death? (And yes I tried the Trouble Shoot Docs."

I KNOW (yes, Mr. Fender, I´m counting on you) that we will see this feature added soon... I mean, I really hope so, along with other important features people have suggested.

Glad you requested aco sim too...

Sabas.
