Hi everyone,

I'm just getting started with Fuse and my Mustang 1 amp. When I open the 65 Twin Reverb, 65 Deluxe Reverb and 65 Princeton in Fuse, the reverb, speed and intensity knobs are grayed out. How do I make these knobs active like the volume, treble, bass, middle and gain knobs?

Thank you,

Mark

double click on the reverb or the tremolo knobs and they should open up an effect for you.

@Andrew: Really? It never worked in my Fuse.

The only way I found to get the Reverb knob active in the Twin modell is choosing a 65-Spring Reverb as effect. But even then the Speed and Internsity knobs stay greyed out.

Double click Speed brings up a vintage trem and enables speed and intensity.
Double click Reverb brings up 65 Fenderspring and enables the reverb.

Sometimes I have to try a few double clicks to get it to work.

@John: After 100 of tries it worked - there where 3 minutes between the double click and the appearence of the Vintagetrem!!

I really dont know why I seem to be the only one who suffers from the "speed" of Fuse. (Hardware: 2 quite new Laptops / Netbooks with some fancy doublecore Procs and 3 Gigs RAM).
Maybe Fuse is faster in other countrys ... ;) For me not useable in a Live-situation.

I'd never reply on a computer-amp interface in a live situation. I use FUSE strictly as a preset librarian. It makes a good tool to easily build my initial presets, store them on disk for storage, and a way to organize presets on the amp in an order I can use to get to them easily when I'm in a band situation. My presets are arranged on a project-by-project basis, or by setlist, and I do any fine tuning on the amp controls, like I would on a real amp.

Yep, I handle it quite similar. For some purposes I use the HorseTamer tool or a simple text editor to arrange sets of presets as "help" for fuse.

<dream>but how nice would it be to have a reliable, fast sftware interface running on a small netbook or s.th. similar in front of me on the music stand which gives me quick and easy access in every situation</dream>

( In our rehearsal room my amp is positioned on the opposite wall, next to me is the amp of our second guitarist opposite of me. So we have much better control of the loudness, the complaints of other musicians telling us being too loud nearly stopped. This is the reason I dont have the controls of the Mustang next to me. Often enough it happend that I wanted to add a stompbox or a delay and Fuse freezes and I had to crawl on the other side of the room, tearing mikrofon cables or stepping on footswitches of my bandmates or hitting a bottle of beer ... )

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the discussion here. You should be able to enable the effect parameters discussed here by clicking and adjusting. I will check this out tomorrow and take a deeper look with our Software team if needed. Thanks again.

BTW - just as a matter of reference, I run FUSE in a VirtualBox environment under Linux, and FUSE is acceptably fast. Sometimes there is a quarter to half-second lag when I click on something, but that is likely more due to one of the other programs I typically have running (web server, POP server, sendmail, Proxy server, etc).

What is your USB port sharing IRQs with?? I'd guess that your problem is less one of FUSE program latency, and more to do with Windows optimization.

Hi Guys,

I have re-checked the expected behavior here. And you should be able to click on these knobs and turn them. Please let us know if anyone is still having problems with this at this point. Thanks.

Yes, I confirmed it Alan. Click and hold down the left mouse button while pointing to the knob, move the mouse up or down to turn the knob and it will become active.
