Hello,

Currently learning Mississippi Queen by Mountain and was wondering if anyone might know what amp settings would approximate Leslie West's awesome phat tone on this classic tune? I read somewhere to use the following;

Gain = 4
Bass = 8
Mid = 5
Treble = 8

Unsure if that's right, nor which model to go through. The amp is a G-DEC 3.0

Thanks!

Ok, so after some experimentation and comparisons with pre-existing models it appears that there is a preset in the G-DEC 3.0 that indeed comes close to the tone I'm looking for. It's number 37 "British Steel" (i.e. a Marshall, even though Mountain used Sunn amps during this period) on the dial. This model has just the right amount of delay and reverb for aping that Leslie West monster tone.
