I've been sitting on these looping bandtracks that I made for my own use and have been meaning to upload and share them for a while but, doing such things is never as simple as they seem.

I did finally create a Sound Cloud account and have now uploaded a selection of tracks there. What took so long was to type up a little info about each file that explained the chord progression etc. so that beginner/intermediate players wouldn't be lost. Being a "hunt and peck" typist, this took a while since I could only do one or two before losing interest...

These are mostly just generic blues, blues/rock, ballads and "old timey" pop and rock stuff - no country or metal, sorry.

Don't expect any professional production and mixing, these are just MIDI files that I created and then rendered to audio with SynthFont using various free sound fonts to do a "quick and dirty" file to send to Sound Forge to create the loop.

One of the drawbacks about using free sound fonts is that they are not "multi sampled". The most evident (and somewhat annoying) example of what this means is that the snare always sounds "hot". That's because the same sample is triggered no matter what velocity (MIDI volume message) is sent.

So, no, they're not perfect, they are just practice backing tracks... But they're WAV file loops - not MP3s - they may provide y'all a little more variety to those available from Fender (tho most are much larger).

These are all 16 bit mono WAV files - not stereo (my JamMan Solo only accepts mono files).

They sound "OK" on my equipment. Hopefully, they won't sound too bad on yours.

Being looping WAV files, they really aren't suitable to be played in most audio players as there will be a "glitch" at the loop point and there is no count off.

These need to be played in a loop player such as:
  • the FUSE built-in player
  • Looper (Windows only)
  • a looper pedal such as a JamMan
  • loaded on to the SD card of a G-DEC 3

Some have pretty hefty file sizes so G-DEC 3 users will need a good size SD card if you want to put them on the amp.

If you click on the title/file name of a track, you'll be taken to the page for that track where you can read info that I provide about the song structure, chords used etc..
