For the past year my Mustang III has been connecting O.K., then yesterday it suddenly won't connect. Device Manager shows "Unknown device".

I've tried 3 different USB Cables and 2 different PCs. I usually use a Windows XP SP3 computer, but also tried it on a Windows 7 PC - same "Unknown Device". I've uninstalled all Windows updates since last February.

I've also uninstalled my USB devices and let them reinstall. I've scanned my PC for viruses and reset the Mustang to factory defaults.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Fuse (2.5.1 & 2.6.0) and the Fender ASIO drivers.

I'd like to reload the firmware (v 1.9), but can't figure out how to do it when Fuse isn't connected. Holding down the 'save' button while turning it on does nothing. Should it go into the firmware load mode when Fuse isn't connected?

It seems like the Amp's USB connection is kaput. Any suggestions before I bring it in for repair?

Hey Richard,

If you've tried 2 different PC's with the same result you're most likely looking at a hardware issue with the amp. Perhaps taking it in for service is the best way to go.
