Is there a smaller FUSE installer available, without the Microsoft components included?

If not, would it be possible to have it in future releases? Or perhaps have the installer download these components directly when needed, after user confirmation.

Hey MPR,

There is a "Lite" Fender FUSE installer that can only be downloaded from within FUSE as an update. That installer can only be downloaded when an updated version of FUSE is available. We haven't made it publicly available because most people installing FUSE actually need the MS components. If you already have FUSE installed, whenever there's an update available you should install the "Lite" version by going to Main Menu>Help.

Hey Loren, do you know if there an applicable version for the Mac OS X install. I am running OS X 10.7.3 (Lion) and really have been trying to not run MS on my MacBook. Thanks.

Hey darrennie,

No matter what, Fender FUSE requires MS Silverlight in order to run. The Silverlight free installer is basically an update installer for anyone who already has a version of FUSE and Silverlight installed.

You can think of the downloadable 300mb installer as the full version and the lite version as an update for someone who already has the full version installed.

So you can only dl it when theres a update lol? Anyway that means if you need it find a old version of fuse somewher on the net (or on your cd that came with your amp I think, if you still got it, or if someone here would link a older version).... You should be able to get it.

You have to figure they didn't want thousands of customers coming on the forum complaining that the software doesn't work properly and have to tell each person to download Silverlight.
