For example, if I like to use the Tape Delay, and have all the settings adujusted the way I usually like it, am I able to save just the Tape Delay, that I can then use when creating an etirely different preset. This way I would not have to remember\write down exactly how I set all the settings for the delay effect. I could have sworn I read somewhere you could do this, but I can't figure out how to. I'm thinking it's just not possible to do this....

What amp do you have? The FX combination knobs on the Mustang I and II can do that. If you have another amp, you can save the FX chain to a Preset using FUSE and then just call up that Preset and change only the amp model. Then you could save that preset as a new preset. Do you get what I'm saying?

I have the Mustang III.
I understand what you are saying, but I was looking at it from the perspective of say, downloading a preset from the community, that had a bunch of effects used, and I just wanted to change the delay to the type I like and with the settings I normally use. I could just pull up my 'saved' delay settings. I thought I read somewhere you could do this, but it doesn't appear so.

Loren, thanks for your response. I posted a question in the mustang forum in regards to recording via the headphone jack vs the FX Send, in the Mustang III. Can you tell me what is the difference? Is everything included in teh signal that comes out of the FX send? Or is this not a recommended way to record. I understand the easiest way is via USB, but I'm using an audio interface and just trying to figure out the best way to record. Using a mic is not an option for me right now. The main reason I'm trying to avoid the headphone jack is just because it doesn't seem like it will hold up to constant inserting and removing of the headphone wire seeing that it's just made of plastic. The FX Send is a much better out being that it's 1/4th inch. Anyway, can you please let me know what is missing if anything in the signal that comes out of the FX Send.

Thanks for your help...

Another option would be to use the Import function. This will let you import an FX chain from another preset.

Regarding recording out, I'd definitely use the FX send. It's a line level signal that will pass a clean signal straight out. The Headphone out is affected by the Master volume knob.
