Negative. I installed the older version and that now exhibits the same behavior. I uninstalled and deleted the "fender" folder and did a reinstall. Still does not work. I'm now out of commission and really can't invest any more time on this bs.

What versions did you guys have installed previously? Did you update using the automatic update in FUSE or did you use the download link?

I've installed 2.6.0 on my desktop as well as my netbook. Both installs upgraded me to Silverlight 5, which installed without a problem. Both installs started and run fine.

EXCEPT

On my Mustang V head, on preset 99, I get the following error on FUSE when switching to the channel. This is copied directly from the Error box in FUSE.

<begin log>

</end log>

It should be noted that preset 99 is ALSO the same preset that glitched to "EMPTY" after the first firmware update I ran on the system. It should also be noted that I upgraded the firmware to 1.9 on both of my amps, so the M5 is running on firmware 1.9 currently to produce this error.

Just so you can give your tech guys all the relevant info, Loren. This might help someone later on.

This error doesn't prevent the amp from using what's saved there nor does it stop me from making any changes using Fuse after I clear the error, but it DOES prevent FUSE from showing the proper amp picture on-screen. Also, with the pictures locked, I can't add any effects in FUSE, pre- or post-. I select STOMP and get nothing.

I have gotten no known errors on my Mustang II so far with the updates.

I've also installed 2.6.0 from the download link. The Troubleshooting.bat file was the key.

Hey FFXI,

Can you send me a copy of that preset? I'd like a few guys here to take a look at it.

Sent.

And I've fixed the error by overwriting the preset with an imported saved preset, then returned all the values from the buggy preset to the new one and saved it. FUSE now has no errors on my M5.

What I'm saying is that I KNEW how to fix the problem so it wasn't a big deal to me. I just thought you guys would like to know about that error. If I were one of your tech guys, I'd certainly want to know about it. Like I said, I think it's a throw-back from having that particular preset glitch to EMPTY, then get changed instead of being over-written with a known, good preset (like i just did).

How did it glitch to empty? Well, I updated the firmware almost immediately after I got the amp to 1.8. Then it sit, unplugged, for over two weeks. When I hooked it back up, preset 99 had glitched. That's all I know. I saved the "empty" preset for people who might want it on here, then changed all the settings to my current 99.

It's tough to say what went wrong. Especially since you had the "empty" preset in that slot previously. I'd say stick to official Presets. I've never seen this problem occur unless an unofficial Preset was used.

If you let Fuse 2.6.0 install Silverlight, as it suggests, it will screw up your existing installation and Fuse won't run. I suspect that the Fuse installer wrongly detects your current version of Silverlight and wants to update it.

I eventually got round this by first uninstalling both Fuse and Silverlight and then re-running the 2.6.0 installer. Fuse is now working ok.

A pita process that really shouldn't be necessary. This version of Fuse doesn't seem to have been as well tested as its predecessors.

People's experience with this seems to vary.

I suspect that if your existing install of Silverlight is not up to date, then allowing Fuse to update it is ok and should not cause a problem, however if you are confident that you already have the latest version of Silverlight on your system I would suggest saying 'no' when Fuse asks if you want to install it.
