Sandisk SDHC, Macbook. I have the newest version of FUSE, and it seems to be working fine. But it won't recognize my SD card, even tho the computer does? Trying to move tracks I downloaded to the SD card... do I have to use FUSE for this, or can I just transfer the presets/tracks directly to the SD card? Will the amp (GDEC3) recognize them?

I should also say:

It's an 8GB, the largest size officially approved by Fender.

At first, I didn't format it; just plugged it in.

Then, when that didn't work, I formatted it to Mac Extended OS. Still not recognized by FUSE, even tho computer recognizes it.

hmm... I've been trying the card in the COMPUTER... does the SD card have to be in the AMP in order for FUSE to recognize it? The manual doesn't explicitly say that, which is why I was trying it in the Mac (I'm away for weekend, amp is at home; I've been trying to load the SD card so it'll be "ready to go" when I get home). I'll have to try it when I get home, but if anyone can verify FUSE will NOT recognize an SD card in the computer, that it has to be in the AMP, that would be great, so I don't keep wasting time trying something that is incorrect. Thanks.

The card needs to be in the amp for FUSE to recognize it. Also, you should format the card in the amp because it will create the necessary folder structure. When the card is in your computer, you can simply drag files to and from it.

Thanks jsteele.

SO- with regards to your last sentence, does that mean I can drag & drop files from my computer the SD card, not using FUSE, stick the card in the GDEC, and that will work? No FUSE required?

Yes, that's correct. Once you format the card in the G-DEC, it will have separate folders for settings and audio files. Just put everything in the correct folder. You can play mp3s from the SD Card, but presets need to be loaded into the amp to be used. You can play backing tracks and/or load presets from the amp itself. So, you don't need to use FUSE for any of that.

When you say "presets need to be LOADED into the amp to be used"... do you mean I have to save over a current preset in the amp? I can't just play the preset right from the card, w/o saving over something?

(I'm sure I can find plenty of presets to save over, I'm just trying to get this straight.)

BTW, thanks for the help!

Hey Ruger,

You can play Presets one at a time from the SD without importing them to a Preset slot by using the Import function in the Utility menu. Other than that, you'll have to save over one of the 100 slots.

I actually didn't know that. I guess you simply don't hit the "save" button? That would be a good way to test presets to see if they are "import worthy".

That's what I assumed...Loren?

I'll give it a try here in just a bit... in between next paint coats (working on the house, lol)

VERIFIED!! Just don't hit the save button! Scroll thru presets on SD card.

It's a very cool little known feature. Good luck with the painting.
