It appears that Fender FUSE 2.5 has been released without any fanfare.

https://fuse.fender.com/

Or more specifically:

Mac: http://wpc.077d.edgecastcdn.net/00077D/ ... 5.0.18.dmg

PC: http://wpc.077d.edgecastcdn.net/00077D/ ... 5.0.18.exe

A couple of folks have noted that this release seems to support the new Super Champ X2, something that 2.4.1 did not.

I've pulled the Mac version. No surprises on 10.6.8 so far. Then again, seemingly no feature adds, so perhaps this was only a maintenance release.

jbobdobbs, thanks for the hint :)
I installed it and I am seeing some changes made to the interface (Mustang V here).
I have no time to dig into it right now but my first impression is that there are several improvements regarding the ergonomics.
Can't wait to read the changelog...

Installed and away I go..
Went straight to testing to see if the "Restore..." dialog box was going to show up like it should.

Regrettably, no. :(

Soooo...Borrowed my wife's laptop (not running Lion, running 10.6.8 ) and completely uninstalled Fuse. (Including the Fender folder in Documents.)

Installed 2.5 fresh, then after restart ran a brand new backup, and clicked Restore. Same issue, no dialog box. Nada.

I installed it last night, played it tonight. ...somebody pinch, me...am I dreaming or were there some major improvements made in the fizz and patch change departments? I just rambled through a whole bunch of patches and had a frickin' blast, and the thing ab-y'd beautifully with the Zoom plowing through the 1/8" aux in, the two DSP's jus' frickin' singin' together. Wow, alls I heard tonight was lamp noise via my Hwy 1 strat, the hum debugger is on its way! And, I'm running it straight through with no noise reduction, no di-box, wires all over the place, all high quality wires, of course. If this holds up, and we can get the glitch in the pedal fixed, despite the crappy USB/Ableton thing, I'm happier! You can hear the fizz, but it's in the right places now with just a few rambling samples if you try to find them. The software engineer must have changed the timing of the fizz frequency and put the instructions for patch changes on a higher priority, the changes are faster but still a hint slow and noisy, but manageable...and, you can be creative with the patch changes if you're board...kind o' like flickinn' a kill switch, but with...some blurr n' stuff!

The gain seems to have been backed off a bit, volume a tad lower, the Advanced Amp selection button in Fuse for the V head is now on the left, and, overall, the clarity is much, much better, I could actually hear two distinctly different guitars sound really, really well tonight, w/ the same patches, no changes necessary, hearing the guitars in a way I couldn't hear them through the fizz and cranked gain and volume before the update.

If there's anything more that can be done with the patch change speed and the pedal glitch, that would be appreciated!

Good job on this update from where I'm sitting!

Thank you Fender! 8)

Unfortunately...

My amp controls seem to be misbehaving now.

The best part of the last release (imho) is broken; the scroll wheel support

Turning the scroll wheel over an amp control allows it to toggle between 0 and 4 only.

It seems to have no effect on the effects controls now. (Sorry...had to.)

Perhaps I'm just in a bad dream that has me downloading a early, buggy software release...and I'll just wake up and it will be all well again...

Loren!

Well I was thinking this new release would bring some improvements :(
A few cosmetic changes, that's all.
But what is worse is this broken mousewheel support.
The controls now act erratically or no longer work at all.
Mousewheel support was a major feature introduced with the previous version.
Congratulations Fender
Back to 2.4.1

I confirm what Boux is saying! I'm also going back to 2.4.1. Fender please FIX this ASAP.

Your software developer must have added new features to a OLDER than latest production release of FUSE. :x

Fender, I recommend that you take the Fuse 2.5 download off your FUSE site and revert all info back to 2.4.1.

Now Fender has upped FUSE to v2.5.1

Maybe they have fixed the mouse wheel issue.

I'm gonna wait.

Nope. THE MOUSE WHEEL ISSUE IS NOT FIXED in 2.5.1. It still has the same unwanted behavior.

I had gone back to 2.4.1 earlier today. I downloaded 2.5.1 and the byte count was different so I installed it. The GUI still said 2.5.0 but the control panel said 2.5.0.22 so I know I installed the one Loren posted.

02/01/2012 07:55 AM 329,827,526 FenderFUSE_FULL_2.5.0.18.exe
02/02/2012 02:46 PM 329,827,288 FenderFUSE_FULL_2.5.1.exe

So we are back to square one...

Going back to 2.4.1...

Yep, just tried again with a fresh install of 2.5.1 (the official real thing).
Broken mouse wheel functionality confirmed.
A real a no-go and deal breaker.
It should be taken off download links.

I'm sticking with the 2.5 original update, it's working sound-wise. The mouse wheel moves the knob but only by a few points, the fine tuning works perfectly with the mouse used manually. ...since I don't need to spend much time trying to dial out the fizz and noise now, I'm not spending much time on the mouse, I'm spending all of the time playing the guitars. So, I'll leave it the way it is unless it starts to sound bad or deeper explanations are offered for the updates, with feedback from youz guyz first, if it ain't broke...

Last night was the second night I played with the 2.5 update and it was just as clear as the night before, a huge improvement over the 2.4 update.
