I've made a few backups, all successfully (according to Fuse). However, I decided today to try the Restore function. In Fuse, I go to Main Menu > Utilities > Restore...

When I click that, nothing happens. No dialog boxes, no crashes, nothing. The menu item disappears, and I'm back at the Fuse interface. It's as if the button is completely disabled. (I've even tried clicking around in various areas of the button, just in case, but no.)

I have Memory Lock turned off (it has always been off), but haven't discovered if there is something else I'm overlooking. I've done the usual reboot of the amp, reboot of my MacBook Pro, etc.

I'm on Lion (10.7.2) running Fuse 2.4.1 and Silverlight 5 (5.0.61118.0).
Edit: Firmware 1.04

If anyone could help, it would be much appreciated!

On a hunch, I grabbed my wife's MacBook Pro, and did a full install of Silverlight and Fuse.

Connected up my amp, completed a backup, saved a minor change in Fuse (changed name of a preset), and then clicked "Restore..."

The Restore dialog box appeared as it should have, and the actual restore went perfectly. Her machine, however is not running Lion.

She's got 10.6.8. I love my amp, but I really wish Fuse had the issues with Mac machinery hammered out. :(

I have always had a problem with the backup and restore part of Fuse. When you click "Backup" you are supposed to get a dialog box that lets you choose to backup presets, band tracks, or both. Unfortunately, on my Macs I never get this dialog box so I cannot do a complete backup. All I can backup is the presets. I basically gave up on ever getting the Backup function to work.

I'm not a programmer, and I'm sure it's a huge pain trying to get software to function consistently across multiple machines, operating systems, etc., but if there was a developer who created an interface to the G-DEC 3 amp that worked I absolutely would pay for it.

People can carp as much as they want about how the software is broken (myself included), and that released software should work (and they're right), but the bottom line is: Since Fuse has been available, what level does it function at today? 50%? 75%? I'm sure there are some that would quote even lower percentages.

Time is money to me, and by spending $30 to save me hours of frustration? Yeah, in a heartbeat I would. :)

Well, so much for being able to Restore. Connected up my wife's laptop, fired up Fuse, clicked on "Restore..." and nothing happened. Just like on my machine. Rebooted all, etc., etc. Same non-result.

*sigh*
