When you start AmpliTube, it immediately tries to start the amp model with whatever in put the program has been set to. If it's not a direct sound input from a guitar USB cable or from the Mustang USB interface, then it'll use whatever other input Windows has been set up for, including a microphone from webcam or a desktop microphone. Those don't really work well and even the smallest sound will get amplified into squeeling, etc.

Turn off AmpliTube. Then connect whatever device you're trying to use. I'll assume for the moment that you have a Mustang Amplifier. Connect that to the PC with a USB cable, then turn the amp on. If you haven't installed the drivers for it yet, they'll try to install now. Let that finish. You may have to restart your computer.

Once that's all done, go into Windows' Sound Options management window and activate the Mustang Amp as a valid input device, but don't make it your default input device.

Once this is done, you can now open AmpliTube. But we're still not done. Open the Settings > Audio MIDI Setup... window. Click on the Panel... button.

Under WDM Device List, go down to your Mustang Amplifier and click the blue power buttons there to turn them on. This lets AmpliTube know you want to use this as an input device. Also, open the Mustang Amplifier and make sure In: 2x 44.1kHz, 16Bits is also turned on. Close that window.

Once everything's set up, make it look like this:

ASIO
Input Device: Fender Universal ASIO
Left Channel: Mustang Amplifier 1
Right Channel: Mustang Amplifier 2
Output Device: Fender Universal ASIO
Left Channel: HD Audio output 1
Right Channel: HD Audio output 2
Buffer size: 512

When you click OK, AmpliTube will activate those settings and you should be working properly now.
