Is Fender Fuse the most exasperating software going?!

I was going to post a query about some (continuing) difficulties with Fuse on this forum, but then found that my username and/or password was being rejected, so I've had to re-register as well! (Hence now known as "NoLongerJackNelson"!)
Anyway, back to the original point.....

Fuse 2.4 loaded some weeks ago.
Always had a problem logging on, as follows :
Usual first screen, click "Login" and it shows showing "Connecting" bottom right...but never does.
Solution = Click Logout button, then hit the Login button again.
This time the screen actually manages to change...I enter Username and Password, to be greeted with a message stating that the "Auto-Login timeout has expired".
Click Login again, and finally all is good.
Why the above happens, I've no idea. It's done it from day one, so I'm used to it now. Slightly irritating, but I just put it down to one of Fuse's peculiarities......

The next headache is fairly new...in fact, since upgrading from 2.3 if memory serves me.
Click on Community, and choose "Mustang Presets".
The first page of 136 (?) appears...great.
Then the fun starts....
Click to go any other page, or sort by any criteria, and I get the same warning -
"This program cannot display the webpage"
Try to navigate anywhere from here, and I get the same message - "Access is denied", quoting "https://fuse.fender.com/themes/fuse/js/software_nav/nav.js" as the culprit.

Even trying to return to the home page generates a warning, but this time it's "permission denied"......

I've even uninstalled Fuse, and reloaded 2.4 after a fresh download....but even then I had to still run the old "troubleshooting.bat" file to bypass the dreaded "Loading...please wait" situation.

Any ideas?

Hi there...you get further than I do...all I get is Loading...Please wait! (XP SP3)
Best of luck, and I hope they'll sort both our issues out!

XP SP3 here too.....

Perhaps you have tried already, but my original "L..PW" problem was solved by Fender's Troubleshooting.bat file....worth a try, my friend.

Unfortunately, it appears that I'll have to use it every time the software is "upgraded"....

The other JavaScript problem - i.e. accessing other than the opening presets page - is still unsolved.....

Hi again Jack...
The troubleshooting Batman thing they sent me just annouced that I was to run it as an administrator. I am on a XP Home pc, which has Adamin accounts for myself and the wife, and limited accounts for the two youngsters...
I even created a new administrator's account just to try FUSE, and, hey, guess what...
IT DIDN'T WORK (Surprise, surprise!)
Oh well, maybe sometime in the not to distant future eh?...

The Admin/create new account thing didn't work for me either, Mark....but running the troubleshooting.bat file did.
I take it you've tried it?

I tried the BAT troubleshooting file and that just came up with (according to Fender), the administrator thing!... I dont have the Bat file anymore now, it has disappeared, so can't even try again.

It's extremely frustrating. This is the most evil un-userfriendly software.

I'm able to log on after doing what you did pressing the logout button then re logging in. I couldn't even log on to the forums here. I had to do the reset password numerous times also and I used the same password and user name every time but then it magically worked.

Another thing that is confusing as hell is all these updates, patches and betas that are scattered around the forum.

The main fender fuse page displays a download for 2.4.0 for pc but if look in the forum there's a update beta and firmware.

Hey Guys, same problems with me too, but I found a Fix with out any trouble-shooting. I`m on XP/SP3 and after being frustrated as hell at this "user UN-Friendly software", I installed "Silverlight 5" and all problems solved. It loads and works just fine. One of the Fender guys kept telling me it SHOULD work with silverlight v4, but, No-No-No. Never. Try Silverlight v5 if you haven`t already.

A personal problem with me however is, I watch "NetFlix" at night and NetFlix will not play movies / tv shows with "silverlight 5". So I have been having to UN-install SL-5 and re-install SL-4 to watch NetFlix, back and forth. So if you haven`t yet, try installing "silverlight 5". It is simply the only thing that made FUSE work on my Win XP-SP3. Most all problems concerning FUSE I`ve read about are those of us running Windows XP.... Hope this helps.

Yeah, really a pain. And I`m still trying to get around it... And your welcome for the tip.

If you would, please post if it worked out for you? Because I`m talking with someone who`s using XP Home Edition, and Silverlight-5 has not worked for him. I`m trying to help and that if maybe it worked for me (using XP Professional). Wondering if it might be just a difference between XP Home, and XP Pro. Only where the "Silverlight 5" thing is concerned.

OK - gave it a try as promised.
Upped to new Fuse 2.4.1 first of all. For the first time on an "upgrade", didn't have to run the "troubleshooting.bat" file in order to get rid of the dreaded "Loading...please wait" screen. At least that bit's a success!
Downed and installed Silverlight 5.x. Rebooted browser as suggested, and then thought that I'd reboot the PC as well.
Fuse booted....slowly, but it got there.
Same old story : "Syncing with amp"....Click LogIn button...."Connecting", but never does. Click LogOut. Click LogIn. This time, username and password are requested.
Complete, click LogIn again....."Your Auto-Login timeout has expired. Please Log in again".
Click OK, click Login....and finally all is well.
So other than the "L...PW" screen, nothing has changed/improved.
Moving on to have a look at the presets, page 1 of 137 appears.
Try to move to page 2 (or whatever), or use the "Sort" button utilising any criteria, I still get the same result....an overlong delay, followed by "This program cannot display the webpage....."
Try to use the arrows forward/backward, and I still get the javascript warning - "https://fuse.fender.com/themes/fuse/js/software_nav/nav.js....."

EDIT - Yes, you're correct : XP Home SP3, IE 8.x

I got a Mustang II for Christmas and last night downloaded the Fuse software and hooked up the amp. Dag there's alot of adjustments and settings you can make. I just tweeked the 24 amp settings more to my liking and I'll just go with that , for now. I definatly like some of the setting better now.
