I know you can download a list of factory presets, which gives the patch location, name, amp type and applied FX, but is there/has anyone yet done a spreadsheet which details each preset's individual settings, i.e the original gain, volume, treble, etc.?
A bit of a task, granted, but handy if you altered (say) the reverb setting, but wanted to return it to the original.....

I have a feeling that someone here has started on this task, maybe for the smaller Mustang amps with fewer presets, but it is a huge job, especially on the III, IV and V amps, and I haven't seen a complete list.

The quickest way to get back to all of the original settings for any preset is probably to reload that preset from the factory set via FUSE - or maybe to keep an unaltered version in another slot on the amp.

With 100 slots available, there should be at least a few factory ones you don't like where you can 'park' your favourite original presets so they are always available unaltered.

Go here. Now if they would just do one for the MII.

Unless I misread, I think what the OP was actually after was not just a list of the Mustang III (and IV and V) presets and their associated amp models and effects, which has been freely available for a while, but exactly HOW the controls for each of the amp controls and applied effects are set in detail for each of those 100 presets.

As I said above, this seems like a pretty big task unless someone particularly enjoys drawing up and filling in spreadsheets ! We are talking about 100 presets, each with several possible amp controls, together with several possible effects, and each effect with several possible control factors, and each control factor with almost limitless possible settings.

I've no doubt Fender has all of this info in some shape or form, as it is embedded in the firmware that contains the factory presets, but it may not in an easily distributable form.

Ahh I see. Has any one tried calling one of the guys from Fender via phone to ask to see whether this information is available?

Hmmmm....
Right, OK - I might have a crack at it, then!
Something similar to this, issued for the Korg AX1500...
http://www.dominocs.com/ToneWorks/downl ... atches.pdf
(*Thinks*...how many times have I said something along those lines, only later to realise what I've taken on!)
Needless to say, I did what I'm sure everybody did when I first got my M3 - listen to all the presets. Afterwards, do it again, but this time not through headphones....a big difference!
Hand on heart, I'll probably use no more than 6 of the 100 when gigging....so what to do with the other 94?!
Can you "empty" them?
Overwrite them with the half-dozen chosen ones, but leave a few "spare" in case you download a new one or two from the forum other-user presets?

Likewise, Jack Nelson, I really can't see myself using many presets in a live situation. Last time I played I had 6 or 7 presets grouped together to be easily accessed, and on the night only actually used 3.

Although it would take a little while to do, overwriting most of the factory 100 with multiple versions of your few favourite presets is certainly possible, and then those favourites would always be only a few dial turns away.

Being able to set up and access 'banks' of presets on the amp would also be a very helpful organising tool.

Like you I am not clear on whether having 'empty' preset slots with nothing in them at all is actually possible - having played around a bit with the amp I suspect maybe not, but it's certainly not clear from either the amp or FUSE manuals.

Maybe Loren or a.n.other could advise ??

Bump

Loren,
Is it possible to have 'empty' presets on the Mustangs, or do all slots always have to have a preset in them ?

If it is possible, how do you create an 'empty' slot ?

There are no "empty" Preset slots on the amp. The 100 user Presets are there as guides. You can customize them however you like. I don't really see the point of having blank Presets.

Just asking ! (Someone else raised the question earlier in this thread).

I agree that with 100 presets there is really no shortage of redundancy and scope for overwriting, but having a few empty/'pass through' slots MIGHT make swapping presets around a bit easier, without the need to worry about what exactly you are overwriting.

I just bought a Mustang III this month and I've been downloading all the info that I can find regarding this amp. I did find the preset spreadsheet info the OP was looking for:

What the OP was actually asking after was how all of the effects that make up each of those 100 presets are set in each case.

As noted earlier in this thread, this is a huge task and one that so far remains undone by anyone here, as far as I know - certainly no-one has posted such a list.

You could do it by loading each of the 100 presets into Fuse one at a time and noting down all the amp and effect settings, but it would takes hours (days ?).

Fender must have the info themselves, but it may not be in post-able form.

actually I reckon for the guys at Fender it's an easy job - all the settings will be held in a database of some sort and it should be only a few hours work to spit that out into a web page - but it may be info they don't want to give out so freely..

Hi Guys,

I will forward your request for an expanded list to the right people here. In the mean time, the Fender FUSE software of course shows the state of the currently loaded Preset. Thanks.
