Hi all,
This is my first post and I'm still exploring my new Mustang I, but it seems hard to keep track of what presets are mapped to the various dial positions in the 3 colors, red, green, amber. Not having perfect memory (or perfect pitch) is there some tip or trick to remembering what type of sound is in what setting?

How about the Fuse app being able to print out a list of the current preset names and their corresponding settings, for quick reference???

Thanx,
midax

New MII user here. I'd like to know the answer as well.

Remembering what preset you have stored where is not made easier by the fact that on the I and II amps you may well, by using FUSE, end up with presets in the dial slots that may bear no relation at all to the amp names pre-printed on the amp itself.

Most of the time I only use about 5/6 favourite presets, but even then I can soon forget where they are stored on the amp if I don't play for a while, unless I am organised in my saving process and put them in consecutive slots.

Works a bit easier on the III and up models I guess, where you can give each preset saved to the amp a specific name that then appears on the amp's LCD screen when you turn the dial.

In either case, being able to print out from FUSE a list of the actual presets you have saved on the amps at any given time (as opposed to the factory starting set) would be very useful.

Any preset list printout capability would be nice. Fender has a PDF of all the factory presets for the bigger mustangs.

Could try printing out a label with preset codes on it and stick it above selector button on mustang cab?

Adding this capability to Fuse would not be difficult to program. We would all benefit from having a crib card of preset names we could refer to and find the one we're looking for easier/faster.

Can someone from Fender consider adding this feature in a future Fuse upgrade?

When I played a gig recently with an MII, after loading up my presets in adjacent slots through FUSE I wrote each preset I was going to use - Green 1, G2, G3 etc - alongside the song names on my setlist.

Outside the gig setting, the sticky label would work I guess, depending on how often/how much you swap presets onto/off the amp.

As I said, the screen on the MIII is a big help, but you still need to make sure your presets are sensibly grouped on the amp before playing a gig - dialling through 100 presets for the 2 or 3 you actually want to use live would be a nightmare !

On the M-I the preset labels don't have numbers, just the names and A - G, and # which are for tuning, but can help with ID the settings. The Advanced Owners Manual for the M I & II don't even name the presets - maybe because they are subject to change with firmware upgrades, so Fuse is the only place to see what you got, whether default factory settings or custom or downloaded.

If Fender ever comes up with a Fuse app for iphone and (I hope) droid phones (and tablets), they could be used to display the preset names.

Enough typing, now back to playing...

This would be a great feature and something I've asked for before :)

For now I am taking a screenshot of the FUSE amp preset page after loading it up, then printing that off
Long and silly way around something that could easily be done from within the FUSE software itself.

I think it is about time someone asked this question, I think everyone with a Mustang has had that "what did I save that preset under?" moment. My solution has been to create a Google Document that has 3 columns and 8 rows, all blank and in landscape format. For the first column the numbers of rows 1-8 are orange, second 1-8 green, third 1-8 red. Obviously the number font coloring in an unnecessary touch but it took no more than 10 mins to set it up and I've printed off a few dozen and simply wrote in my presets.
I'm sure there are 100 way's to do this but for me, being able to just print off blank templates like that has been great. I've also bought some 14' x 22' poster board and using a marker drew the same design so that I'm not squinting at a piece of computer paper.
I have the Google Document described above downloaded in PDF format, and JPEG, I just cannot figure out how to post it here. If there is any interest in it I will gladly post, or if someone knows how to do it and wants to post it themselves, be my guest.

Hey Guys,

Your suggestions have been noted. Maybe that function will make it into a future version of Fender FUSE.

Since I use my Mustang amp only at home @ this point, I've created an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of my presets. This allows me to add notes as far as which guitar that I was using, style of music etc. If you don't have MS Office you can download Open Office for free.

Just a thought

Awesome!! That's what I was hoping to see. I'm learning more about the Mustang amp every day. Moving from a Fender Princeton tremolo model (circa mid 50s), it's a blast exploring the additional FX available.

Thanks,
midax
