When I run fuse it crashes after a few minutes. I can restart it but it keeps crashing. It happened after installing Lion. Message says silverlight problem. Any thoughts?

I upgraded to Lion yesterday but didn't get around to trying Fuse. Some other Lion users have been having problems with Netflix which also uses Silverlight. There have been suggestions to use the Silverlight 5 Beta Developer Runtime for the Mac which is available for download on this page:

http://www.silverlight.net/downloads

You might give that a try. If it works, post back. I'll probably have to do the same thing.

I hope you guys cloned your drives before you upgraded to Lion. I also hope Lion doesn't include some weird firmware update that prevents you from booting back into Leopard or Snow Leopard. :?

I highly recommend Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper for cloning your internal HD. Both allow you to create bootable external HDs and is handy for experimenting with new OS releases from Apple.

I do a lot of Mac support where I live and will probably have to install Lion on a firewire drive to learn it.

Thanks. I already cloned snow leaped on a firewired drive. I am now running fuse on that. I also run windows thru parallels. I'll try updating silverlight.

I've been running Fuse on Lion for a couple of hours now without a crash. Was there any specific task that caused crashes for you? I have not upgraded Silverlight. I'm running Fuse 2.3.

I never upgrade my Mac OS until they work out all the bugs. I didn't install Leopard until a year after it came out. SuperDuper is great.

Wise decision. I do wish SuperDuper would also clone invisible authorization files like Carbon Copy Cloner does. I have to re-authorize Digital Performer every time boot from a drive created by SuperDuper but not from one created by CCC. I like SD's interface much better than CCC.

I just tested saving three different presets without a problem. I would suspect Silverlight. So, you might try reinstalling that.

Click the tab for uninstalling Silverlight on this page for instructions:

Previously, this has resolved a number of issues for me.

For all of you scared to upgrade to Lion, I haven't run into any issues. I've upgraded both my work and home computers. I also have two servers running the server version of Mac OS X and its a totally different story with them. I won't be upgrading them for some time. But, desktop upgrades have not been an issue.

I updated silverlight. I haven't hooked up Mustang yet. I ran into a few problems with Lion like my Logitech mouse scrolling works backwards now. Go figure...

The mouse issue is a "feature" of Lion. Go into you Preferences -> Mouse and there is a check box to put things back to normal.

Thanks. I called Logitech and they said the same as you. Thanks. I have the Performance MX mouse that I think is the best mouse so I use over any others.
