I can see what saying lesbeat, but if that were the case, why were they fixing something that wasn't broken? People weren't having many problems with backup - at least not in the Mustang forum search that I did - until after the change was made and then, people started having more problems.

If your scenario is correct, well they shot themselves in the foot because the change created bugs instead of fixing them...

Yep, they probably caused some problems with the change. That's what happens when things are not tested very thoroughly, and even then stuff happens. Why they made the change now is probably the old "better now than later" reasoning. I worked for a *very* large company and software changes were made often with fun consequences sometimes... Note that they may have had one contractor write the code and some other contractor took over. we don't really know what's going on behind the scenes...

Hi there

It's been a long time since I was here the last time. Because I didn't play to much guitar and did also not much fiddeling around with my mustang III, I did not recognize that there are big problems / changes with the preset organization.

So last days I updated Fuse to actual version and saw the problem with HorseTamer (other preset filenames). Last night I started to work on a new version of HorseTamer, that can handle the new file naming with "07_myPresetNamexyz.fuse" instead of "07.fuse".

The change is made and seem to work, but at the moment there is a problem with the filename characters, but it may be a problem in Delphi. When HorseTamer wants to create the preset file for the factory preset 11 "What the #^[<!?", there seem to be characters, that are not allowed in a filename. To my surprise, the same preset, when backed up by Fuse (directly from Mustang), the file is named "11_What the #^[<!?.fuse"

I will test, if I can give it another dummy name, or if it has to be the same as the preset name. If so, I have to change preset and filename.

So for those who still would like to use HorseTamer, there is a chance, that the new version will be released the next few days.

Hi there

Here you can download the new version of Horse Tamer (V0.5.0):
HorseTamer Download

There is no new stuff in it, but it should now be able to handle the new preset filenaming.

If you like, please try it out. If you find any bugs (as it is a quick and dirty version) please leave a message in this thread.

Regards
ischenitte

Great program, I've just started using it. The only problem I seem to be encountering is that none of the presets saved on my computer are showing up in the "Available Presets" window on the right side...what am I missing? Thanks.

Just like to say a Thank you to Ischenitte for his work! I downloaded Horsetamer yesterday and it works fine. Very usefull to create sets of presets for special purposes, different guitars, different amps, rehearsals, gigs inside, gigs outside and so on.

Hi tyjuanw

Thank you for your feedback, I'm happy if HorseTamer can make your fender fuse life easier! Currently, I'm working on HorseTamer's internals, as the first versions were only a real quick'n'dirty solution for me to organize the fuse presets. Now I try to clean it up and make it more maintenance and enhancement friendly, as it seems that fuse will not be enhanced the way I would appreciate.

It needs some time until next version of HorseTamer will be released, as I have little time for programming, but I will give my best ;-)

Cheers
Ischenitte

Hi Frente

Thank you for the nice feedback, this was the purpose to create HorseTamer, to complement the Fender Fuse software, as long as there is no such functionality in there.
I still hope that Fender will extend Fuse with some sort of backup organizing, so I could stop HorseTamers development. Let's see ...

Cheers
Ischenitte

Just installed Horsetamer on Window 8. It can read backups created on a v1 Mustang I but says File Not Found trying to read backup from a V2 Mustang II.

I note the name M2_BackupName.fuse in v2 and MU_BackupName.fuse in V1.
When i change the 2 to a U, Horsetamer can now read the backup.!!!!

this is with latest mustang II v2 firmware, Fuze 2.7.0, 0.5 horsetamer

Update: seems this product is dead...last post previous to mine is from Dec of last year and it was unanswered....
too bad 4

If you have access to a Mac, I wrote an app called Speed Shop that supports V.2 Mustang backups.

ischenitte - thanks for the Horse Tamer software, but having serious trouble starting it up. Under Setup - browse to C:\uers\username\mydocuments\fender\fuse gives me the proverbial "Folder C:\Users\username\Fender\Fuse is not a valid FUSE folder" therefore I cannot access/preform any backups. Please advise?

Under Win7 ultimate - 64bit, Fuse 2.7.1, Horse Tamer 0.5, MII Firmware V1.10

From the post above, it appears that V 0.5 Horse Tamer will not run in Firmware V1.10, anyone have a fix? Thanks, Bob
