I bought the Mustang IV a week ago and for the most part I think it sounds great and there are loads of great features. My only complaint ("major" complaint actually) is the lag time when switching presets using the foot-switch pedal. I updated the firmware the other day which was supposed to improve this flaw but I don't see much of a difference.

How can musicians use this amp in a live setting? If you want to go from playing rhythm to a lead boost for a solo there's a noticeable drop in volume between switching presets. Same with going from clean to a distorted patch. It only happens for a split second but the volume cuts out and when the next preset loads up it sounds as though someone is turning the volume knob up gradually.

I still have a Yamaha DG80 Digital Modeling amp that I bought 9 years ago and the switching between presets is seamless. Why can't Fender make something similar in the year 2011?

Please Fender can you figure out a way to fix this?! I'd rather not have to return it or use it as a practice amp. I'm not resorting to digging out my analog pedals to change various tones/boost mid-range, because one of the main reasons I bought the amp was to keep everything simple/less cluttered.
