I've updated to the latest version of Fuse, but when I plug either my my Mustang V or III into my laptop, it only recognizes it as an Audio Input Device. If I try and select it as an output option in either the system preferences, or in Garageband, it does not show up in the list of available Output options.

I also have a GDEC 3 30 and it work fines in OS X for both Audio input and output.

If I use my Windows 7 desktop, the mustangs also work in both directions. I've also repaired permissions on the OS directory s I've seen that fix weird things.

Anyone else having this problem with a mustang and OS X? (Both amps have the newest firmware)

The Mustang line of amps are incapable of receiving audio through the USB port - it is a one way only connection that sends audio to the computer. So there will be no output options on the computer for the device. This is true for Windows and Mac and there is nothing wrong with the situation, this is how the Mustangs are designed.

The GDEC's are a completely different line of amps that do accept audio to the amp.

Hmm, are you sure on that? I could have sworn I got audio out from my windows 7 pc. I remember because my girlfriend tried to call me on skype while I had the mustang v hooked up and it almost blew out my eardrums! I'm in the middle of reloading mypc, so I'll check again when I get drivers reloaded.

If so that's absolutely retarded. USB interfaces are a dime a dozen, why would fender skimp on that?

p90sdude is correct. The Mustang line are input-only devices.

You can however run the headphone out on the computer to the line in on the Mustang if you want to monitor on the amp.

Why Fender why? The whole point on the mustang is simplicity, why do I need to use yet another cable and such a kludgy solution? Every other modeler I have that uses USB is bidirectional?!?!?!

I must have had my rp1000 plugged in when the skype sounds came through the 4x12's!

Yeah, I really don't like this either.

Hey Fender, any chance this could be fixed with a firmware update?

Unfortunately not. This is the way the hardware was designed.
