Most audio interfaces - of which the Mustang is one - have their own specific ASIO drivers written for them, hence the Fender driver, to optimise thier performance, although I have seen it suggested on these forums that a 'generic' driver such as ASIO4ALL will work equally well with the Mustang - the Fender driver may in fact be a 'rebadged' version of ASIO4ALL.

Perhaps I should have also started my answer by saying that the Mustang, among its many other clever tricks, can be used as a recording interface with your DAW - hence the provided ASIO driver - or if you don't already have your own DAW software, you can record with the included Abelton Live Lite.

Thanks for the reply. I use Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro with Delta 66 SC. WHen I load the Fender Universal Driver it becomes the default driver in my Cakewalk with no option to switch over to the Delta Driver. Aside from using the headphone from the the amp to the input of my Omni I/o box....how does it interface with my software...via USB ??

Thanks again

Maybe this thread would be better in the Mustang forum, but anyway.

In effect, the Mustang amp can be both your audio interface and your sound source, communicating with your computer via USB and providing a quick all-in-one way of recording guitar, especiially for those who don't already have a quality audio interface and DAW software.

The downside of this is that I assume that your guitar gets recorded 'as is' from the amp, including all effects/amp models etc that you may have applied to the tone. If you are pretty confident that the tone is what you want, maybe thats ok.

While using the Mustang as the audio interface could be convenient, I suspect that where someone already has/is comfortable with a DAW set up with an audio interface such as the Delta, they may prefer to record via the headphone out of the Mustang to the Audio card's input, as you have described, although getting the levels right from the headphone output needs attention to avoid clipping in your DAW.
